'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' pre-release event proposed at SVU Taraka Rama Stadium
TIRUPATI: The makers of the upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, have formally approached Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) seeking permission to host their pre-release event at the Taraka Rama Stadium. Production House-Mega Surya Production has requested access to the stadium from June 5 to June 8, 2025. As per the proposal, the first three days—June 5, 6, and 7—will be utilized for stage construction and barricade arrangements, with the grand pre-release event scheduled for June 8. The film, directed by Jyothi Krishna, also features Nidhi Agarwal, Bobby Deol, and Sathyaraj in prominent roles. A Dayakar Rao produced the film, and AM Rathnam is presenting the film. In their request to the SVU Registrar, the production team assured that the event would be conducted in an organized and respectful manner. They also pledged to maintain the venue's condition and restore it fully post-event. Speaking to the TNIE, Tirupati SP V. Harsha Vardhan Raju said that while he is aware of the proposed pre-release event of Hari Hara Veera Mallu on June 8, no official request for police bandobast arrangements has been made so far. NV Prasad, a Tirupati-based film producer and close associate of Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, confirmed to TNIE that plans are underway to host the pre-release event in Tirupati.

Poster on Central and State schemes released in Tirupati
Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS), a Tirupati-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) operating with the support of Child Fund International, brought out pamphlets and posters on the Central and State government schemes, informing the public how to use them. Tirupati District Collector S. Venkateswar, who formally released the posters at his chambers in the Collectorate, here on Saturday, appreciated RASS and Child Fund International for not only supporting the cause, but also going the extra mile to create awareness among the prospective beneficiaries on how to use the schemes. He lauded RASS general secretary S. Venkataratnam for the initiative and said that such efforts would go a long way in creating confidence among the beneficiaries. While advising the NGO to seek the association of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) to cover more beneficiaries, Mr. Venkateswar offered all support on behalf of the government.

Tirupati-based radiologist appointed to A.P. Medical Council
The State government on Tuesday appointed Tirupati-based Daggumati Sreehari Rao to the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC). APMC is a monitoring and regulatory authority in the medical profession, which supervises the registration of medical practitioners, their periodical renewal, takes action upon complaints of unethical practices, besides taking up orientation for the young doctors on ethical practice. The new body, comprising two teaching staff from medical colleges and four registered medical practitioners, is an interim one, which will remain functional to carry out the day to day activities till a full-fledged body is formed. Sreehari Rao, a radiologist by profession, is one of the four medical practitioners taken on board from across the State and the lone representative from the Rayalaseema region. He has served as the vice-chairman of the medical council in the past. Dr. Rao is also a senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP leaders expressed delight at his appointment and see it as a recognition to his selfless service to the party as well as the profession.

AP Medical Council gets new chairman and vice-chairman
1 2 Vijayawada: The state govt has cleared the names of Dr Daggumati Srihari Rao as chairman and Dr Gogineni Sujatha as vice-chairman of AP Medical Council . The govt recently named six renowned medical professionals, including Srihari Rao (Tirupati), Sujatha (Vijayawada), Dr KV Subbarayudu (Ongole), Dr Kesavarao (Vijayawada), Dr C Malliswari as members of medical council. However, intense lobbying by various groups got the selection of chairman and vice-chairman delayed. Sources said a strong group of doctors and medical colleges in the state wanted Dr Gogineni Sujatha, a gynecologist at Pinnamaneni Siddartha govt medical college, as chairperson of the medical council. However, health minister Satya Kumar Yadav is believed to have backed the candidature of Srihari Rao, who was a strong contender for Tirupati Lok Sabha seat in the last elections. The Tirupati-based radiologist served as vice-chairman of medical council in the past. He also served as national vice-president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and was also state president of IMA. He is president-elect of Indian Radiologists Association (IRA). Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have cleared the name of Srihari Rao. Another 13 posts in the medical council were lying vacant since the resignation of the members in the previous governing council. The 13 posts will be elected by practicing doctors in the state. The govt has to nominate another four ex-officio members to the council.
