4 arrested for murder in domestic dispute

Indore: Ratlam police on Saturday arrested four people, including three minors, for murdering their relative who was attempting to resolve a domestic dispute at his sister-in-law's house. The investigation revealed that the conflict stemmed from a family dispute over property. The incident occurred when Maya, a resident of Karaliya Machal in Indore, travelled to Ratlam with her elder son-in-law, Mahesh Rathore, and other relatives to help her daughter Urmila, who was facing alleged harassment at her in-laws' home in Manav Nagar. Around 8:30 PM on Thursday night, as they stood near Urmila's residence, a group of youths attacked them with knives. Mahesh was critically injured and later died during treatment at the district hospital. Maya also sustained injuries in the attack, and Urmila's sister-in-law, Jyoti, aged 34, was stabbed as well. The victim's body was sent to the medical college for post-mortem and handed over to the family on Friday. Before transporting the body to their village, the grieving relatives approached the SP and Collector's office to file a complaint against the DD Nagar police, alleging negligence. They claimed the police took Mahesh's relatives to the station instead of prioritising medical attention for the injured. SDOP Kishore Patanwala, who was present at the time, promised a fair and impartial investigation.
