The synopsis and preview images for Episode 45 of "The Apothecary Diaries" (Season 2 Episode 20), titled "Toad Tray" have been released!

Under Shenmei's orders, Maomao had been spending her days creating an elixir of immortality. One day, Kyou-u devised a plan to help Maomao escape, but he was quickly discovered by the guards. Hearing the commotion, Suirei intervened to mediate the situation. Just as everyone breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the crisis had been averted, Shenmei appeared, instantly changing the atmosphere.
As Shenmei gleefully contemplated which of them to torment—Maomao, Kyou-u, Suirei, or the guards—Maomao's anger boiled over. In a moment of frustration, she blurted out words she immediately regretted. Enraged by Maomao's outburst, Shenmei ordered her to be taken to the torture chamber.
