Toll Stone celebrate as they win season finale in Duleek & District Dart League
Lynchs of Slane played host to the decider and it was Lantern who came back from the dead to win first leg in the 1001 team game, with three huge shots near the end getting them off to a perfect start.
However, Toll Stone won three of the ensuing four doubles games to lead 3-2 overall.
The final then moved on to the eight singles games and two quickfire victories for Toll Stone through Jack Traynor and Tony Carter gave their team a healthy 5-2 lead.
There was fresh hope for Lantern when they pulled one back through Damian Cahill, to make it 5.3 at that stage, but that was the briefest of rallies and a brace of further victories for Toll Stone from Keith Rooney and Aidrain O'Halloran sealed a 7-3 victory and secured the John Speedy Heavey Cup.
Afterwards, members of the Duleek & District League committee made various presentations to both teams, with the winning captain Paddy Campbell receiving the cup.
The league would like to say a big thanks to all those involved in the staging of the final - both teams, marker Keith Crilly, caller Robert Smith, League chairman Pat O'Brien, supporting committee members and the Lynchs management and staff for hosting and supporting the final. Lynchs proved to be a fine venue for all concerned, with a great crowd and atmosphere throughout the night.
