Tahoe National Forest seeks public feedback on multiple projects
( — The Tahoe National Forest announced they will be receiving public feedback on their Pliocene Ridge Project and Forty-Niner Gold Project by April 25.

Both projects aim to reduce wildfire risks, according to the forest.
The forest said the projects establish fuel breaks on critical access roads on National Forest land next to the communities of Alleghany, Bassetts, Downieville, Pike and Sierra City.
Winter storm increases State Water Project allocation
Residents and visitors will be able to drive safely out of the area once vegetation and hazard trees are removed. According to the forest, the removal will also reduce the danger and difficulty of suppressing future wildfires.
