Ursuline walk-off sends the Irish to district title game
STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – Ursuline baseball won a walk-off thriller 3-2 over Villa Angela St. Joseph's in the Division IV District Semifinal at Bob Cene Park on Tuesday.
Ursuline senior Tommy Kosovan drove in the winning run with bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 7th to send the Irish to another district title game. He finished 2-for-4 on the day.
AJ Synder also recorded two hits for the Irish while driving in two runs and senior Anthony Triveri picked up a hit and two runs while striking out 8 batters across 6 innings pitched.
The Irish advance to the district title game against Girard on Thursday, May 29, with a 2 p.m. scheduled first pitch at Skeeles Field in Akron.
