Rod Stewart facing eye-watering cost of Glastonbury set as his children make sacrifice for show

Sir Rod Stewart is set to play the coveted Legends Slot at Glastonbury in just a few weeks time and is planning on pulling out all the stops for what is likely to be his final major festival performance. Glastonbury musical festival goers are set to witness a historic moment during its Sunday evening Legends Slot. In previous years, music icons including Lionel Richie, Kylie Minogue and Dolly Parton have all entertained audiences in the coveted closing spot but this summer, it will be Sir Rod Stewart who graces the Pyramid Stage. However, this is not the 80-years-old's first time at Glastonbury, having played the festival back in 2002 with Coldplay and Stereophonics. However, the singer's upcoming summer gig promises to be an extraordinary show. Sir Rod is also said to be planning a raucous weekend with his band and pals ahead of the landmark performance. ‌ Not all of his music buddies will be there though as the Maggie May star confessed that he doesn't see old pals like Ronnie Wood or Sir Elton John as often anymore because "they don't drink and I still do. They stay away from me... bad influence!" However, Rod, who has shifted some 200 million records over his six-decade long career, will need to start looking after his own health too, after he recently had to cancel a Las Vegas show due to a nasty throat infection, Glasgow Live reports. ‌ While he has no plans to officially retire, the rock icon announced that his 2025 European and North American shows would mark the end of his "large-scale world tours," with future performances set to take place at smaller venues. Rod will indeed be going out with a bang at Glastonbury as he revealed to BBC'S Sidetracked with Annie and Nick that he's splashing out almost £300,000 on his Sunday show. Despite being the festival's headliner, Sir Rod said he doesn't receive a guest list and that three of his eight kids will be buying their own tickets. The singer said he offered to cover the price of his family's tickets himself but his children opted to pay their own way to witness their father's final major festival performance. While Sir Rod's payment for the event remains unknown, Glastonbury headliners typically earn no more than £250,000, a figure confirmed by organiser Emily Eavis who noted that acts receive less than 10% of what they could command elsewhere. ‌ A significant amount of the costs will cover transporting his band and gear from California, with the ensemble set to reside in a Bath hotel for the duration of the festival. Sir Rod expressed his anticipation for an unforgettable weekend celebrating with his bandmates. ‌ In addition to his regular band, which includes guitarist Don Kirkpatrick, long-time bassist Conrad Kirsch and violinist J'anna Jacoby, Sir Rod has revealed plans to reunite with former Faces bandmate and current Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood. He also plans to have a small orchestra on stage with him for his ballads, such as Tonight's the Night and I Don't Want to Talk About It. The singer has admitted it will be tough to fit in all of his classic hits during the 75-minute slow. ‌ To make the most of his time on stage, he plans to keep his between-song chatter to a minimum, although admits he will pause for the occasional sip of Bacardi and Coke. He said: "It's the only thing I drink and I only drink it when I do gigs. " The 80-year-old also has no plans to stop recording anytime soon with a new album featuring Rod and former Faces bandmates Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones due to be released in 2026. Speaking about the new album with music Craig McLean, Sir Rod said that there are "15 tracks that are extremely worthy, some old, some new."

More info Glastonbury Festival is undeniably the single most important event in the UK music calendar, and some of the most unforgettable moments in its 50-year history have come from the Sunday night "Legends slot." Over the years, we've seen stars such as Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Kylie Minogue delighting audiences with their hit-packed performances, and 2025 will be no exception, with Sir Rod Stewart gracing the iconic Pyramid Stage. This won't be Rod's first Glasto performance – he previously headlined the festival in 2002, sharing the bill with Coldplay and Stereophonics – but this summer's performance promises to be something special. (Image: undefined via Getty Images) Speaking to the BBC's Sidetracked with Annie and Nick, the veteran rocker revealed that he'll be splashing out around £300,000 of his own money for his Sunday afternoon show. He also mentioned that – as performers aren't given a guest list – three of his eight children will be purchasing their own tickets to what could potentially be the 80-year-old star's final major festival performance. While it's unclear exactly how much Sir Rod will be paid for his Glastonbury gig, it's known that headliners at the festival rarely earn more than around £250,000. Festival organiser Emily Eavis has stated that Glasto headliners receive less than 10% of what they would typically make at other festivals. A significant portion of the cost will be dedicated to transporting his band and their gear from California, USA. They'll all be lodging in a hotel in Bath for the weekend, and according to Rod, he's eagerly anticipating a lively weekend with his bandmates. (Image: undefined via Getty Images) In addition to his regular band, which includes guitarist Don Kirkpatrick, long-time bassist Conrad Kirsch and violinist J'anna Jacoby, Sir Rod has announced he will reunite with his former Faces bandmate – and current Rolling Stone – Ronnie Wood. He also revealed plans to have a "small orchestra on stage" with him for his ballads, such as Tonight's the Night and I Don't Want to Talk About only 75 minutes of performance time, Sir Rod acknowledged it will be challenging to fit in all of his classic hits. He intends to keep his between-song chatter to a minimum, so he can squeeze in as many of the classics as possible, although he'll pause for the occasional sip of Bacardi and Coke: "It's the only thing I drink," he explained, "and I only drink it when I do gigs. " (Image: undefined via Getty Images) Sir Rod confessed that he doesn't see old mates like Ronnie Wood and Sir Elton John as frequently as he did in the Seventies and Eighties, because "they don't drink and I still do. They stay away from me... bad influence!" But Sir Rod, who has sold some 200 million records over his decades-long career, will need to take care of his own health too. He recently had to cancel a Las Vegas show due to a throat infection. While he has no plans to retire, Rod confirmed his 2025 European and North American shows would mark the end of his "large-scale world tours," with future performances to be held at more intimate venues. Sir Rod has no intention of hanging up his microphone, with a new album featuring collaborations with Rod and former Faces bandmates Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones set for release in 2026. Speaking to music journalist Craig McLean, Sir Rod revealed that they have "15 tracks that are extremely worthy, some old, some new" already assured fans, "We will get it finished, I promise," and confidently stated, "No other band sounds like us. My sex life was in the doldrums after having two kids – a 30 min lunchtime fix & now I'm having best orgasms of my life

'OKAY, you'll just feel a little prick,' says Dr Shirin Lakhani, brandishing a syringe and strapping on her head torch like she's about to go potholing. It's Tuesday lunchtime and while most people are tucking into a Greggs, I'm getting filler in my lips. Not the ones on my face – the ones downstairs. 9 9 As a 38-year-old mum-of-two, I know all too well how childbirth can change things downstairs. And while I've always loved my lady garden, I figured it deserved a little spring spruce. Why not try and turn back the clock to my pre-baby bloom? Turns out, I'm not the only one asking the question. Demand for the labial puff – a tweakment that plumps up the outer labia for a more youthful, fuller look – is booming. Because apparently, it's not just your face that deserves a little TLC these days. Now there's a fancier upgrade – the Vampire Wing Lift. It's a mix of cosmetic filler and your own blood's platelet-rich plasma (PRP), designed to boost blood flow and definition, and revive tired tissues. Think vampire facial… but for your vulva. Already huge in the US, the treatment is now winging its way across the pond thanks to 'Queen of the Vulvas' Dr Lakhani, who runs intimate health clinics in Kent and Knightsbridge. 'Women lose volume downstairs through ageing and childbirth – just like your face,' she explains. 'This new combo uses your body's natural healing powers alongside hyaluronic acid for more natural results.' And the name? 'It's inspired by the Rod Stewart song Tonight's the Night, with the very naughty lyrics, 'Spread your wings and let me come inside,'' she laughs, mid-injection. Dr Lakhani is no ordinary cosmetic specialist. She has over 25 years of medical experience and was the first female doctor in the UK to offer the infamous O-Shot – a treatment where blood is taken from your arm and injected into your G-spot and clitoris to boost orgasms, libido and confidence. She's helped thousands of women climax, earning her a string of awards and a fiercely loyal client list – including celebs. Women fly in from all over the world to see her, so I can at least relax knowing I'm in safe hands. My partner, on the other hand, looked positively traumatised when I told him. 'But… surely less is more down there?' he winced. Apparently not. Vaginal rejuvenation has never been more in vogue – with women flocking to luxury sexual wellness retreats offering everything from tissue regeneration to aesthetic tweaks that boost both function and finesse. Even stars like Jada Pinkett Smith and Sinitta are reportedly fans. 9 Vampire O-Shot Today, I'm going full whack with a '360 vaginal rejuvenation' – and I won't lie, I'm slightly terrified. First, Dr Shirin Lakhani gives me a thorough examination before injecting anaesthetic. I haven't been in this position since my last smear. 'You're neat,' she reassures, 'but you've lost a little volume.' She explains: 'We'll do 0.5ml of filler each side, plus 5ml of PRP. Don't panic if you look like a baboon's bum afterwards – swelling goes down in a few days.' As part of the package, I'm also getting the £300-a-session V-Tone – a 30-minute electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) session that claims to be the equivalent of doing 30,000 pelvic floor exercises. It feels weird, like mini internal zaps, but not painful. Then comes the £1,000-a-session Morpheus 8V – a machine that combines microneedling with radiofrequency to boost collagen and tighten things up. It's shaped like something from Ann Summers and goes inside the vaginal canal and around the vulva. Next is the legendary O-Shot. Blood from my arm is spun into PRP and injected into my G-spot and clitoris. 'This really helps women who've lost the ability to orgasm during penetrative sex,' Dr Lakhani says. 'Many only need one shot to see a huge difference.' One session costs £1,500, and results usually show in three to six weeks. As a stressed-out mum, my libido's taken a bit of a nosedive lately and orgasms have become more elusive than a full night's sleep. But Dr Lakhani is confident this treatment will help me over the finishing line again. Last but not least is the £1,500 vampire wing lift itself – 2.5ml of PRP and 0.5ml of filler, strategically injected into each labia. The PRP stings slightly, like paper cuts, but honestly it's less grim than a smear. 'It might sound like a lot but the body will absorb the PRP,' Dr Lakhani explains. 'I've used a small amount of filler so you get subtle results.' 9 These treatments aren't just about aesthetics. Women are seeking help for atrophy, incontinence, loss of sensation and painful sex. Some younger women are chasing the TikTok trend for the 'crotch cleavage' look – aka a plumped-up camel toe – with specialist knickers flying off shelves. But Dr Lakhani rolls her eyes: 'Trends come and go. I've got women now asking for pubic hair transplants after lasering it all off in the '90s!' All the treatments took under two hours – but with a £4,300 price tag, I'm crossing everything (well, not everything just yet) for orgasmic results. Everything to consider before getting a designer vagina While the NHS doesn't offer vaginal rejuvenation treatments, it does offer advice for women considering the treatments. Some women want a designer vaginas because they do not like the look of their labia, which is the fleshy folds of skin that make up the external part of the female genitalia. However, it's completely normal to have noticeable skin folds around the opening of your vagina. In most cases, it does not cause any problems. The NHS advises: If you're thinking about having a designer vagina treatment, discuss it with your GP first. You may have a condition that's causing discomfort, which can be treated. Your GP may advise you to speak to a counsellor or psychologist before committing to surgery It can be expensive, with the average labiaplasty costing about £4,000. The cost of any consultations or follow-up care may not be included in the price If you're having surgery in England, check with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to see if the hospital or clinic is registered with them Check the surgeon is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC). They should be listed on the specialist register and have a licence to practise You may need up to two weeks off work to recover. It can take a couple of months for the skin to fully heal. During this time, peeing and sitting may also be uncomfortable Designer vagina treatments can occasionally result in bleeding, infection, scarring of tissue and reduced sensitivity of the genitals As the anaesthetic wears off, I'm definitely sore and look like I've had some sort of allergic reaction downstairs. But I'm not panicking. Dr Lakhani assured me it's totally normal and the swelling should settle in a few days. I pop a couple of paracetamol and by day three, the pain's gone - and honestly, I'm looking pretty fabulous below the belt. My pre-baby flower is blooming and I'm glowing from head to toe. I look smoother, rejuvenated, and can't wait to road test the results. Even my partner has relaxed. He was a bit terrified about peeking at the post-procedure area - but the results are so natural, he agrees everything just looks a little plumper and tighter. Then comes the big test: is it all style and no substance? Or is this going to blow the bedsheets off? Dating a sexpert is hard work (so I'm told), but someone's got to do it - and luckily, he's very much up for the job. We get down to business and… wow. I definitely feel more sensation and have more confidence. And when the moment finally arrives, the orgasm is explosive - longer, deeper, more intense. And the best part? The results are only going to get better with time. Who knew a little prick could bring so much joy?
