David Beckham reveals his mum ‘hasn't stopped crying' as they reunite for surprisingly budget meal out

LUNCH WITH A KNIGHT It comes as David's son Brooklyn has remained quiet about his dad's knighthood , Showbiz Reporter DAVID Beckham today revealed how his mum "hasn't stopped crying", as he reunited with his family for a surprisingly budget meal out. The soon-to-be knighted star, 50, took to social media to share he was enjoying some quality time with his mum Sandra, 76, and his sister Joanne, 43. 5 5 5 It's been an emotional few days for Becks, ever since it was revealed on Friday that he set to become Sir David. To celebrate the occasion the much-loved star took his family out to lunch at Tony's Pie & Mash shop in East London. Fans might be surprised to hear that multi-millionaire David treated his mum and sister to a budget lunch, where meals go for around £6. But the restaurant is one of the star's favourite places to eat, and he has often shared pictures of him eating the traditional East End grub there. The trio were there to celebrate David finally getting his knighthood. Taking to social media to celebrate the occasion, he posted a picture with Sandra and Joanne, as they got ready to eat their pie and mash lunch. David wrote next to the sweet snap: "Mum cried when she arrived, cried during lunch and cried when I was leaving x special moment for us all ❤️ love you mum x @sandra_beckham49 ( Dads next) @tedbeckhamdavid @tonyspieandmash." When it was announced that the former England star would be getting his knighthood, he posted: "Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. "To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.' Becks added: 'It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I'm immensely proud and it's such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.' David has been made a knight for his services to sport and to charity, which he said gave him "so much fulfilment". The knighthood means Spice Girl wife Victoria will be known as Lady Beckham - and she 'couldn't be prouder.' Victoria took to social media on Saturday to share a sweet photo hugging her husband, and planting a kiss on his cheek. The fashion designer penned a lengthy caption, which said: 'You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you. 'Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered. 'The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much xxxx' Victoria wasn't the only one of the Beckham clan to share their congratulations, with Romeo and Cruz both showing their support. However, it was noticed that David's eldest child Brooklyn had once again snubbed his father on a huge occasion.
