Texas A&M's 2025 spring game date has been revealed
Texas A&M's 2025 football season kicks off next month, with the spring season approaching and the annual Maroon & White spring game scheduled for mid-April. According to a team representative who spoke with Austin American Statesman's Tony Catalina, the game is set for 2:00 p.m. CT. on April 19, while the upcoming practice dates have not been announced.
Before the official announcement, the future of Texas A&M's spring game was in question due to the new trend in college football regarding the adoption of an NFL O.T.A-like offseason, headed by Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, who announced during his appearance on the "Up and Adams Show" that the annual Orange-White game will not be held this year.
This is a personal choice, likely due to the Longhorn's deep run in the College Football Playoff, wanting to prevent any potential injury or added wear and tear before the 2025 season. For the Aggies, this spring season is vital based on how the 2024 campaign ended, while coach Mike Elko and his staff hope the 13 transfer portal additions mesh with the returning roster.
The Aggies will also welcome in a majority of the program's 9th-ranked 2025 recruiting class, featuring several players that will see play time as soon as the 2025 season.
