McCaffery later served as the Indiana Pacers' basketball development coordinator during the 2023-24 season before leaving the role to become an assistant coach at Butler University for the men's basketball program. On Wednesday, The City League, a nonprofit organization that hosts a community basketball tournament, highlighted McCaffery and his former Iowa teammate Tony Perkins on social media.
