Cyclist (70s) dies after collision with tractor in Co Clare
A cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, has died after a collision involving a tractor in Co Clare on Saturday afternoon. The collision occurred at Toonagh, Tulla, Co Clare. Advertisement Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following report of the collision, involving a tractor and a bicycle, which occurred on the L3180 at approximately 12.45pm. The cyclist, a woman aged her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a postmortem examination will take place. There were no other injuries reported at the time. The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12pm-1pm today are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí. A woman has died after being hit by a tractor while cycling in Co Clare on Saturday. The incident happened on the L3180 road at Toonagh, Tulla at around 12.45pm. 'The cyclist, a woman aged her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene,' An Garda Síochána said in a statement. The woman's body was taken from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a postmortem will take place in due course, the force added.
