With approximately 650-sq ft layouts designed for flexibility and efficiency, restaurants opened using the "Qube" concept include both drive-thru and walk-up windows optimized for both delivery and pick-up. Qube restaurants contribute to a lower cost structure that supports labor and operating cost efficiencies, and includes features that will allow for testing of self-serving lockers and kiosk ordering in the near future. The modular restaurants are readily manufactured off-site and then shipped fully equipped, pre-wired, pre-plumbed and inspected to any site, dramatically reducing the development timeline. Quiznos' Alpena location has a menu with many of the traditional Quiznos favorites, like the Chicken Carbonara and Classic Italian subs, as well as a few location-specific offerings such as Philly Fries or Tots, which are topped with Black Angus Steak, sauteed peppers & onions, queso blanco and banana peppers, the crispy chicken tenders meal and sub, and the Belgian waffle for dessert. The opening is being led by Jeff Konczak, owner of BCubed Manufacturing and a respected local developer and owner of several prominent Alpena revitalization projects. Hull nursery able to reopen thanks to temporary home
A children's nursery forced to close after its building was condemned has reopened after moving to a temporary Tots, on Westcott Street, Hull, shut earlier this month after Ofsted raised concerns about the "safety and suitability" of its the nursery has been given the use of a room in nearby Holderness House for at least the next three Moxon, the chair of the nursery's committee, described the move as "amazing". "[We can't see] the light at the end of the tunnel just yet," she said. "However, it's just a massive relief and a big weight off my shoulders that we're able to still provide the service to the children, because I know how important childcare is for some of the parents."So to be able to continue... just gave us that breathing room so that we can go on to what I call phase two and try to source a building."Staff and supporters got the room ready over the weekend and the site has been registered with Ofsted. The building on Holderness Road is the former home of philanthropist Thomas Ferens, who left it to the community when he died in Moxon said the move would provide "breathing room" while the nursery raised money to build a new facility on the site of its former home."We're doing lots of fundraising and outreach and trying to find how we can start to build," she said.
