Talk Business: Northwest Arkansas cities recognized in tourism award nominations
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Several cities in Northwest Arkansas are making waves at the 51st annual Arkansas Governor's Conference on Tourism, happening Feb. 23-25 in Bentonville.
The conference will feature the Henry Awards, which recognize achievements in the state's tourism industry, Talk Business & Politics reported.
Bentonville has earned two nominations: the Peel Compton Foundation's Coler Mountain Bike Preserve is up for Tourism Attraction of the Year, and Visit Bentonville is nominated for Tourism Organization of the Year.
Brandon Kelley from Bella Vista is recognized for Individual Innovation in Tourism for his work with Discover Bella Vista to enhance local tourism.
Siloam Springs School District, lawmaker react to free breakfast bill in legislation
Fayetteville is competing for the Natural State Tourism Development Award, with Experience Fayetteville's Bikepacking Route Network being acknowledged for its contribution to outdoor tourism.
Eureka Springs is nominated for Tourism Organization of the Year, with the Eureka Springs City Advertising & Promotion Commission promoting the town's historic architecture and arts scene.
The ceremony will announce the Tourism Person of the Year and honor Joe DeVito and Alice Walton as Tourism Hall of Fame inductees on Feb. 25, during the conference, alongside the Arkansas Outdoor Economy Summit.
