Investment firm says scammers are misusing its identity
PETALING JAYA: Investment company Tower Capital Asia (TCA) has assured the public that it has no association with recent cases of scams and fake investment schemes.
The Singapore-based company said its name and branding have been misused by certain unauthorised parties to carry out scams and solicit fraudulent investments.
It said the matter came to its attention after a report in The Star that TCA's identity had been used for a nonexistent investment scheme in which a Sibu accountant lost RM50,000 recently.

'Our corporate identity has been misused in connection with a fraudulent investment scheme and a scam website.
'We wish to state unequivocally that TCA has no association with this website or the individuals operating it.
'Any use of our name, logo, or corporate materials in such contexts is unauthorised and misleading,' it said in a press release issued on June 6.
TCA said its investigations have identified that the allegedly fake website was also used to falsely solicit personal information and investments from targets.
The company urged the public and investors to verify the authenticity of any entity claiming to be affiliated with it.
