Toyota starts teasing new SUV rumoured to be the all-new RAV4

Despite being seven-year old, the RAV4 unseated the Ford F-150 to become the best-selling new vehicle in the United States in 2024. Although not named outright, the official teaser image by Toyota has already been hinted as being that of the all-new RAV4. Image: Toyota Toyota has released first teaser images of a new SUV it will debut on 21 May, without going into detail or indeed providing an actual exterior shot neither blacked-out or blurred. Released by both its North American and European divisions, the overhead shots provide no hints apart from what looks like to be fitting of a glass sunroof. Global top three best-seller According to several online publications though, the images preview that of the all-new generation RAV4 that officially became the third best-selling nameplate in the world last year with an offset of 1.02-million units. ALSO READ: Report claims current Toyota RAV4 continuing until 2025 Of this, 475 193 were sold in North America, which saw it dethrone the Ford F-150 for the title of best-selling new vehicle. First sighted undergoing testing in January this year, the sixth generation RAV4 will replace the current XA50 that debuted back in 2018 and subsequently as the rebadged Wildlander in China the following year, and in Europe in 2020 as the restyled Suzuki Across. Inside and out Spotted by in the initial spy shots, the RAV4 retains its boxy looks, but appears more upright and more reminiscent of the current Nissan X-Trail. Here's our first look at the next-generation Toyota RAV4. Even through the camo, we can see that the next-generation SUV will have a more upright look while incorporating design elements from the Toyota Crown Signia. — Motor1 (@Motor1com) January 28, 2025 According to the publication, it will, however, be styled to closely resemble the Crown Signia that replaced the slow-selling Venza, known in South Africa as the Lexus RX, in the United States last year. More intricately though, the Toyota Europe media site provided slightly details with the reveal of the newcomer's interior. Interior represents a huge departure from that of the old RAV4. Image: Toyota Europe Seemingly modelled on the all-electric bZ4X, the cabin boasts the same steering wheel, a box design for the digital instrument cluster binnacle, a deep recess on top of the latter for the Head-Up Display, and a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. PHEV and hybrid expected Still utilising physical buttons on the steering wheel, the rest of the interior appears equally derived from the Tacoma bakkie, though as before, the RAV4 will continue to ride on a unibody platform seemingly set to be a revised version of the current TNGA-K. Current fifth generation RAV4 has been on-sale globally since 2018. Image: Toyota On the power front, the current hybrid and plug-in hybrid options will prevail, with the verdict still being out as to whether conventional petrol engines will be included. More soon With just over a week left before its reveal, expect Toyota to possibly provide a few more hints over the next few days. 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Nods at History

Toyota is adding the FX package to the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback. The automaker revived the FX moniker as an appearance package with the Corolla sedan in 2024. The Corolla Hatchback FX is scheduled to arrive at dealers this fall. Toyota is adding another Corolla FX model to its lineup for 2026. Like the Toyota Corolla FX sedan revealed in 2024, Toyota is adding the FX package to its hatchback counterpart. Toyota's latest FX variant adds a wing, a set of white wheels, and some nods to the original FX16. Like the sedan, the '26 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX is based on the SE grade. That means this Corolla packs the same 2.0-liter I4 under its hood, which pushes 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque through a continuously variable transmission to the front wheels. Toyota says this combination is estimated to achieve 33 mpg combined. While the powertrain might be the same as the Corolla SE, this FX package sets itself apart with style. The Corolla Hatchback FX adds a wing at the rear and a set of alloy wheels finished in gloss white and orange accents in the interior. That interior also features a set of sport touring seats with suede inserts. There's also a nod to the FX16 with the special edition badge on this Corolla's hatch. Toyota Toyota says it will limit production of the Hatchback FX to 1,600 examples for the US market. These cars will be finished in either inferno, ice cap, or blue crush metallic, and are expected to arrive at dealers this fall. Pricing is still to be determined, but this will probably be a couple thousand dollars more than the standard Corolla Hatchback SE's $24,915 starting price. You can probably expect it to start around $27,000. However, tariffs could push that price higher: The Corolla Hatchback is manufactured at Toyota's Tsutsumi Plant in Toyota, Aichi. Toyota Unveils Vintage-Inspired Corolla Hatchback FX

Business Toyota Unveils Vintage-Inspired Corolla Hatchback FX Back in the late 1980s, Toyota dropped the Toyota Corolla FX16: a small hatchback powered by the legendary 4A-GE engine with a 7500 rpm redline and a five-speed transmission. It wasn't quick by any means, only making 108 hp, but its stature and 2,440 lb curb weight made it a blast in corners. The 1980s are gone, but thankfully, the FX16 is now back in the form of the 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Edition. 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FX Toyota Toyota The FX sports some sporty touches Based on the Corolla Hatchback SE, the FX embodies its rowdy older sibling with a black vented rear wing, 18-inch gloss white-finished alloy wheels with black lug nuts, and a vintage-looking "Corolla Special Edition" badge on the hatch. To match the special edition flair, the Corolla Hatchback FX will be available in Inferno, Ice Cap, and Blue Crush Metallic. Under the hood is the regular 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine making 169 horsepower, 151 lb-ft. of torque, and a combined 33 MPG rating. The cabin doesn't quite relay the same level of fun colors, but it does feature black Sport Touring Seats with suede inserts and orange stitching that continues on the door panels, steering wheel, and shifter boot. A 7-inch digital gauge cluster is standard, as is a wireless charger, and an 8-inch infotainment screen. Your standard smartphone connectivity makes a welcome return, with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi Connect trial/subscription that offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices. 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FXToyota View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Vintage touches don't mean a lack of safety Toyota's latest Safety Sense 3.0 suite gives the Corolla modern amenities without compromising its vintage looks, including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. Warranty-wise, the Corolla Hatchback FX comes with the standard 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty and a 60-month warranty that covers the powertrain for 60,000 miles and against corrosion with no mileage limitation. ToyotaCare comes included at no additional cost, and covers factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years with unlimited mileage. 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback FXToyota View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Final thoughts Toyota didn't mention a price tag for the 2026 Corolla Hatchback FX, only stating that it will produce only 1,600 examples by this fall. Everyone likes it when a manufacturer shows respect towards their heritage with a special, limited edition model like the Corolla FX, and while the interior doesn't quite do the exterior justice, this is still a welcome sight that is sure to sell out quick.
