Unaka High School hosts ‘Mapping Your Future' event
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — Students at Unaka High School participated in a 'Mapping Your Future' college and career fair on Friday.
Students explored various career and school options, including technical school and certificate programs.
'A lot of kids, they don't know how many options are available in the community around them and outside of the community,' Regional Director of Programming & Community Schools in Carter County Laura King said. 'We have a lot of local businesses that are here as well. If they want to stay in Carter County and contribute to the community that they're in, they can do that.'

Around 35 community partners from the region participated in the event.
'Everyone who is a Unaka High School graduate here today is wearing an alumni ribbon,' Unaka High School Social Worker and Student Support Coordinator Traci Ward said. 'That is so meaningful for us because we want these kids to see you can graduate from your high school and go on to a successful career in whatever that may be.'
