83-year-old pedestrian killed by hit-and-run SUV driver
SEATTLE - An 83-year-old woman is dead following a hit-and-run crash on Monday morning. Timeline Seattle police responded to the scene at 4th Avenue South and South Spokane Street in SODO around 7:45 a.m. on May 5. Officers have since determined the woman was walking westbound in the crosswalk when she was struck by an SUV attempting to make a right turn. Police continue looking for the driver they say fled the scene on Monday. Roads in the immediate area of the crash were shut as investigators worked to clear the scene. Police cordoned off the area until detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) arrived and processed the scene. Seattle woman vows to find driver who killed her mom in hit-and-run
[Source] A Seattle woman is offering a $20,000 reward to find the motorcyclist who fled after striking her parents in a crosswalk earlier this month, killing her mother and seriously injuring her father. What happened The couple was walking on the crosswalk at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Alaska Street near the Columbia City light rail station when they were struck by the southbound motorcycle at around 8:20 p.m. on April 18. The rider fled the scene before police arrived. Min Huang, 57, sustained critical injuries including significant head trauma and was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she died two days later. Her husband, Xing, 59, suffered a spinal fracture and knee injury and remains in recovery. She described her parents as hardworking Hyatt Hotel Seattle employees who were approaching their 60s and looking forward to retirement. 'We are a close, loving family, and they've always given everything to build a better life for me,' Chen said, adding that they are 'heartbroken beyond words' with the loss of her mother. What they're saying According to police, a 49-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter down 1st Avenue South near South Washington Street around 2:15 a.m. Officers said they found the man lying in the street with a serious injury to his head. He was treated on scene before being taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Seattle police determined the driver of the vehicle did not render aid or call 911, and left the scene of the crash. The current condition of the victim is unknown at this time. Seattle Police looking for hit-and-run suspect, victim in critical condition
Seattle Police (SPD) are asking for any information regarding a hit-and-run that left a person in critical condition early Monday morning. According to SPD, a 32-year-old woman was 'propelled into the air' when she was hit by a car around 7:30 a.m. at Beacon Ave. S and S. McClellan St. Police said the driver ran a red light and hit her while she was in the pedestrian crosswalk. The driver did not stay at the scene. Police say the person was driving a gray or white Ford Mustang. People should look out for a vehicle of that type with front-end damage. 8 injured in East Queen Anne morning crash
Eight people were taken to the hospital following a crash on Westlake Avenue North early Sunday morning. At around 2:10 a.m., an Accura sedan was reported to be racing another car going south when it crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Ford Explorer head-on, according to the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad. The Seattle Fire Department says the driver and passenger of the car seen racing were trapped and crews had to remove the roof of the car to rescue them. The driver of that car appeared to be impaired, according to Seattle Police. In total, three were in critical condition and five were reported in stable condition, according to the Seattle Fire Department. All eight patients were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
