Techie's old job interview video resurfaces. Now, years later it has become his nightmare

The founder claimed the interview, which took place years ago, was poorly executed on his part due to a lack of preparation and intense job-hunting stress at the time. "I had an interview years ago where I fell short," he wrote. "They questioned me on technical subjects that I couldn't properly articulate, largely because I hadn't thoroughly prepped. One interviewer even mocked me, saying, 'You say you've worked at NASA, but you don't seem to know what the un-embedding layer is in a Transformer model?''The entrepreneur noted that during that period, he was applying to numerous roles under pressure, hoping for a break. Eventually, frustrated with the traditional job market, he decided to build something of his own, launching a tech company and leaving behind the disappointment of failed the past came back in an unexpected and jarring way. While pitching his company's services to local clients in Berlin, he was shocked to hear references to what they called his 'training video.' Confused at first, he eventually understood that they were referring to his recorded interview with a company he had applied to years earlier.'They said, 'We saw your interview with company X,'' he explained. 'I remembered they asked to record it at the time and I had consented—but I never imagined it would be shared beyond the interview panel.'He was especially stunned when one potential client mentioned the interview had been accompanied by what they described as a "letter of warning" against collaborating with him. 'All this, over one bad interview,' he to the Reddit community, the founder sought answers about whether interview recordings were protected by confidentiality and whether companies had the legal or ethical right to distribute them.'Are interviews meant to be private by default? Can companies legally send those recordings to others? This feels so wrong,' he wrote. The post quickly gained traction, drawing concern and sympathy from fellow users. Many advised him to seek legal counsel, arguing that the sharing of the video may have violated data protection laws or defamed his character. 'It sounds like a serious case of defamation,' one user commented. 'Agreeing to a recording doesn't mean you consent to it being passed around to undermine your professional life. Lawyer up.'Another user shared a similar fear: 'I had a rough interview once where they recorded me too. I've always been anxious that it could resurface. People told me I was overreacting—this just proves some companies do act unethically.'

Tech entrepreneur claims his failed job interview was filmed, used to warn other companies

A tech entrepreneur made a stunning claim that his old job intevriew from years ago was recorded and later shared with other companies to seemingly damage his professional reputation. The man claimed that he had botched an interview years ago.(Representational) In a Reddit post titled 'My old interview call got shared with other companies', the Berlin-based founder revealed that he recently found out that a botched interview from years ago was being circulated with other companies. the unsettling turn of events. "A few years ago, I had a job interview that I bombed. I couldn't define properly some concepts they asked, as I hadn't really prepared. They came off as a bit demeaning, i.e. 'you claim you worked at NASA but cannot tell us what the un-embedding layer is in the Transformer architecture,'" he said explaining that he had been mass applying for a job at the time. He said he struggled with interview performance due to being stressed and overwhelmed with the job hunt. Eventually, he said, he ended up launching his own tech business and moved on from the stresses of job hunt and forgot about the botched interview. "A few local businesses that I've tried to build a client relationship with told me that they saw my 'interview training video.' Not sure what they were talking about. They were like, 'oh we mean your interview with company X'… and I realised. They had asked if they could record, I said yes," he explained 'Letter of warning' According to the post, the businesses viewed the video after he publicly posted about a new project kickoff on LinkedIn. Shockingly, one business admitted the interview had been accompanied by a 'letter of warning' about working with him. 'Just because of one bad interview,' he added. He asked the Reddit community whether interview recordings were supposed to be confidential and whether companies were even allowed to share them externally. 'Are the videos confidential? Are they allowed to share them externally? Ugh.' The post has since drawn heavy attention, with Reddit users encouraging him to seek legal advice and consider pursuing action over what many see as a violation of data privacy and professional ethics. "Sounds like you have a defamation case in your favor. You might said they can record but you didn't agree to it being used in the way they are using it. Time to lawyer up and seek damages, especially against your reputation and business," suggested one user. Another user shared a similar experience. "I had a bad interview that the interviewer asked to record at the beginning and I'm terrified the video is going to show up when I least expect it. Other people told me I was catastrophising but this just proves that some people are that awful," they said.

Full details of Big Summer Spectacular coming to Stirling

A new family festival featuring a monster truck show and dozens of funfair rides has been announced for Stirling. The Big Summer Spectacular will take place at City Park on June 28 and 29. Around 5,000 tickets for what is described as 'Stirling's biggest ever funfair' are up for grabs. A monster truck stunt show from Big Pete Monster Trucks and a theatrical giant dinosaur performance are planned. Festival goers can also snap a selfie with a Transformer, watch birds of prey in action and visit market stalls. There will be popular funfair rides, including the Waltzer, carousel, ghost train and a wipeout challenge. Bungee trampolines, classic games – including hook a duck and ring toss – will also feature. Central FM will additionally be bringing a road show to the stage. Organiser Chad Stirling of Adventure Events Ltd believes the festival will be successful. The showman has travelled across the UK with fairgrounds, and this will be the first event he has organised. With regular trips to the Trossachs and passing the sign for Stirling, he decided the location would be 'aesthetic' with Stirling Castle in the background. A Stirling Council spokesperson said: 'Stirling has a proven track record of successfully hosting major events and big crowds. 'It's great news that a new event is being planned this summer at Stirling City Park, which is a superb venue for large-scale outdoor events.' The Big Summer Spectacular runs from 11am to 9pm on June 28 and 29. Tickets cost £13 and under twos go free. Admission includes performances, displays and character meet and greets, but not fairground rides, stalls, food or drinks. Car parking can be booked for an additional £4.50 fee. Last year, Summer Sessions hosted Shania Twain, James Arthur, Busted and Tom Jones at City Park. However, it was confirmed by The Courier in October that the event would not return in 2025.

Scientists Create Dancing 'Transformers' Metabots

Scientists Create Dancing 'Transformers' Metabots. Engineers at Princeton University have created bizarre new 'metabots' that can transform shape, move, and dance independent of any motor or gears. The 'metabots', which Princeton researchers have likened to rudimentary versions of the Autobots and the Decepticons from the Transformers franchise are made from a new type of material that can expand, assume new shapes, move and follow electromagnetic commands like a remotely controlled robot even though it lacks any motor or internal gears. 'You can transform between a material and a robot, and it is controllable with an external magnetic field,' said researcher Glaucio Paulino. In this case, the researchers built their metamaterial using a combination of simple plastics and custom-made magnetic composites. Using a magnetic field, the researchers changed the metamaterial's structure, causing it to expand, move and deform in different directions, all remotely without touching the metamaterial. A more distant use for the new material would be to design physical structures that mimic the performance of logic gates made with transistors in a computer, potentially creating complex structures that can move in intricate ways, like a Transformer!
