The future of the family-run restaurant was left in limbo as the wreckage was torn down leaving many wondering if it would every return. We revealed how after years of waiting for locals, Scottish potato tycoons Albert Bartlett had bought over the site and announced they would be rebuilding Guidi's. The land has been fenced off as crews began preparing for the rebuild. Bosses have now announced construction work will now begin. Design plans have revealed what the site will look look like. Albert Bartlett has said the new design will have 'blend fresh Mediterranean-inspired design with warmth, values and hospitality.' The new interior will have exposed brickwork, timber beams, and the familiar aromas of Guidi's traditional Italian recipes. Ricardo Guidi said: 'After many months of hard work and planning I am excited to see activity underway on the new Guidi's. 'A huge thank you to the local community for all your support and encouragement. We can't wait to welcome everyone back to Guidi's in 2026 and look forward to making new memories together.'
