Kerry chef warns Ballymena riots ‘the start of things to come'
In a latest Facebook video, the Killarney chef said rioting in Ballymena was a result of 'continually putting down the people of the nation' by calling them 'far-right, racists, and Nazis'.
He added that bringing 'in tens of thousands of men' and putting them in small towns and villages throughout the land is decimating tourism.
Mr Treyvaud is forthright in his views on immigration and runs Treyvaud Restaurant in Killarney. He was among the strongest critics of lockdown during the COVID pandemic due to its impact on business.
Mr Treyvaud did state in his video that attacking people because of their religion or skin colour is wrong, but that governments needed to address 'the fear' of the people.
As a business owner, Mr Treyvaud did not condemn the wanton destruction of property caused by the rioting in Ballymena in his message.
'What we are seeing in Ballymena right now is the result of putting people down and saying you don't get to say who comes into your town and villages,' he said.
'If you continue what you are doing and put these people coming to our shores over the Irish people, you're going to have more scenes like Ballymena. Maybe I'm wrong,' he added.
