Qatar Charity gears up for global Udhiyah, humanitarian projects

Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Charity (QC) has started preparations to implement Udhiyah projects and a series of humanitarian and development initiatives across 40 countries, including Qatar. This is part of Qatar Charity's Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH (2025) campaign launched under the theme 'The Greatest Days'. QC's Adahi projects, supported by generous donors, plan to distribute meat from around 45,300 sheep and cattle across 40 countries, including Qatar, reaching over 850,000 people in need. The focus will be on crisis-affected countries and regions such as Syria, Palestine, including Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia. Amid Gaza's ongoing humanitarian crisis, QC has reaffirmed its commitment to dignity and care. Sacrificial animals (Adahi) designated for Gaza will be slaughtered on schedule, expertly cut, and securely packaged to preserve freshness. The moment border crossings reopen, the meat will be swiftly delivered to families in need, ensuring they too can share in the blessings of Eid. QC's Udhiyah distribution will take place in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Palestine, Syria, Tanzania, Niger, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Ethiopia, Indonesia, India, Lebanon, South Africa, Malaysia, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, Djibouti, Mauritania, Togo, Benin, and Burundi. In Qatar, QC's Adahi project will distribute sacrificial meat from 4,000 sheep to around 30,000 individuals, spreading the joy of Eid. Beyond Udhiyah, the 'Greatest Days' campaign invites contributions to broader relief efforts, including food baskets with essential supplies, which are expected to be distributed in Somalia, Chad, Kenya, Pakistan, Sudan, Ivory Coast, and Yemen, in addition to delivering aid to Rohingya and Sudanese refugees. The 'Greatest Days' campaign also seeks support for development projects, including water and economic empowerment projects, which will benefit needy families in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, Bangladesh, Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Syria, Senegal, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Albania, Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco, Ghana, Kenya, and Pakistan. Additionally, the campaign will provide humanitarian aid and implement other vital projects. QC has invited Qatari citizens and residents to seize the blessings of Dhul-Hijjah's first ten days by supporting its charitable projects, emphasizing the profound spiritual reward of good deeds during this sacred time.

Qatar Charity receives GCC Housing Award

Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Charity (QC) has been honoured with the prestigious Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Housing Award for the 2024–2025 cycle, during the 23rd GCC Housing Ministers Meeting held in Kuwait. The award was received by Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity, Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, from Kuwait's Minister of State for Municipal and Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Abdullah Al-Mashari. The ceremony was also attended by Qatar's Minister of Social Development and Family H.E. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi. Qatar Charity has implemented several initiatives to support low-income families, widows, and divorcees within Qatar by addressing their housing needs. These efforts include covering rental costs and implementing the 'Renovation' project, which focuses on repairing old homes for low-income families and providing them with suitable furniture. Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity, Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, said, 'We are pleased with this honour, which reflects Qatar Charity's dedication to social housing as part of its contribution to realising Qatar National Vision 2030. Through initiatives that aim to foster community stability, enhance living standards, and provide healthy housing environments for low-income families and groups, we are committed to making a meaningful impact.' He noted that this recognition will motivate Qatar Charity to pay more attention to such community initiatives. It is worth mention that the 6th edition of the GCC Housing Award 2024-2025 was held under the theme 'Digital/Smart Applications and Technologies in Housing Projects and Programs.' Cash prizes were awarded to the top three winners, and several organizations were honoured during the official ceremony, including Qatar Charity, which was recognized in the category of private sector and charitable organizations.

Qatar Charity implements vital initiative for vulnerable communities in Mali

Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Charity (QC) implemented a relief and development initiative in Mali, benefiting 9,360 people, including internally displaced persons (IDPs), vulnerable groups, and sponsored individuals. The initiative was carried out with support from Qatar's donors and in cooperation with Mali's Ministry for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families. The initiative was launched under the patronage of Mali's Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and the Family, Diarra Djeneba Sanogo, and in the presence of Qatar's Ambassador to Mali HE Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sunaidi. The initiative aims to provide shelter, economic empowerment, and improved living conditions for IDPs and vulnerable groups, including orphans, persons with special needs, students, teachers, and low-income families. Qatar Charity's relief and development initiative focuses on empowering women and youth through income-generating projects. These projects included the provision of 50 flour mills, 130 tricycles for goods transport, 130 tricycles for passenger transport, and 200 sewing machines, to boost livelihoods and promote self-reliance. The initiative also delivered essential humanitarian and social aid, containing 1,000 school kits, 200 shelter kits for IDPs and flood victims, and mobility aid for persons with special needs, which included 600 standard wheelchairs and 100 electric ones. Additionally, 900 water purifiers, 900 solar-powered camping lights, and 900 kitchen kits were distributed, along with 1,200 blood pressure monitors and 2,900 personal water filters to enhance health and living conditions. On this occasion, Mali's Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families, Diarra Djeneba Sanogo, expressed her pride in this humanitarian initiative, which aligns with the priorities of Interim President of Mali Assimi Goita. She also extended her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Qatar Charity and the State of Qatar, both the government and people, for their ongoing support and noble humanitarian efforts. In turn, Qatar's Ambassador to Mali, H.E. Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sunaidi noted that this project emphasizes the efforts to strengthen the partnership between Qatar and Mali, based on mutual trust in various areas of cooperation. He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Mali and all those who contributed to this noble humanitarian initiative. Said Zoulgamai, director of Qatar Charity's Mali Branch, emphasized the importance of the relief and development initiative, extending his sincere thanks to the philanthropists in Qatar for supporting the most vulnerable groups, and to the HE Ambassador to Mali, acknowledging his pivotal role in the success of this vital project. The launch event concluded with the honouring of Qatar Charity, which was awarded a certificate of appreciation for its outstanding efforts in overcoming challenges, alleviating the suffering of people, and providing the best humanitarian services. The certificate was presented by the Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children, and Families to the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mali.
