Sony also utilizes its proprietary LDAC codec for high-res audio, improving the audio performance over a wireless connection. Sony claims LDAC transmits as much as three times more data than conventional Bluetooth audio for greater detail.
The XM5 earbuds also utilize bone conduction technology for enhanced phone call performance; the sensors detect when the wearer is speaking, isolating vocals from ambient sound and background noise.
