The body of a missing man was found in a river in Co Meath.
The grim discovery was made yesterday during a search operation of River Boyne in Trim. The man who went missing is believed to be an elderly resident of the area.
A spokesperson for Meath River Rescue said: "The 1st day of the search for the missing person has concluded. Meath River Rescue members Recovered the body of the missing person
"A short time later the body was transferred to Trim Gardai and the undertaker. Our members returned to the People of Meaths Boathouse to wash and sanitized equipment and await to the next call out
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends."
