Police book singer Mangli for liquor party without permission
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Wednesday booked folk singer Mangli for allegedly organising a liquor party without valid permission during her birthday celebrations at Tripura Resorts in Chevella. Some guests who attended the birthday party were tested for drugs, and one individual tested positive for consumption of ganja. He was booked under the NDPS Act. According to officials, at around 1:30 am, the Chevella police received a complaint from locals about loud music at Tripura Resort. A police team reached the scene and discovered that singer Mangli, also known as Satyavati, was celebrating her birthday with family and friends. "To use a DJ sound system at any event, organisers must obtain permission from the police. Similarly, if liquor is being supplied, permission from the excise department is required. They had neither," Chevella inspector M Bhupal Sridhar said. According to police, 25 members attended the party, including Mangli's friend and actor Divi Vadthya. The party was arranged by Mangli's manager, Megharaj. Apart from Mangli and her manager, police booked cases against Tripura Resort assistant general manager M Shiva Rama Krishna, Mangli's associate-cum-guest K Damodhar Reddy under BNS and Excise Act. All the accused were issued notices to appear for questioning.

Ganja and liquor found at Telugu singer Mangli's birthday bash near Hyderabad
Telugu folk singer Mangli is facing legal trouble after her birthday party was raided by police on Tuesday night at Tripura Resorts in Chevella, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The celebration, attended by nearly 50 people, including family members, industry colleagues, and popular Telugu personalities such as Rachcha Ravi, Divi, Kasarla Shyam, and singer Indravathi, was interrupted when police arrived following a tip-off about suspected drug use. Acting on credible information, the police conducted a raid at the venue and reportedly found a quantity of illegal narcotics along with a stock of imported liquor. Visuals from the raid, now circulating online, show scenes from inside the resort during the crackdown. Authorities tested 48 attendees for drug consumption, and reports suggest that at least nine individuals were found to have consumed cannabis (ganja). A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, News 18 reported. Investigators are now working to trace the source of the drugs discovered at the event. In addition to the drug-related charges, Mangli has been booked for organising the party without prior permission from the police and for serving imported alcohol without a valid excise licence. The general manager of Tripura Resorts has also been booked for allowing the event to take place without the necessary permissions. So far, Mangli has not issued any official statement regarding the incident. Mangli, whose real name is Satyavathi Rathod, is a popular Telugu folk and playback singer known for her vibrant performances and powerful voice. She rose to fame with festival-themed songs such as Bathukamma Song, Bonalu Jathara, and Hyderabad Bonalu, which are widely played during regional celebrations. She has also sung chartbusters like Ramulo Ramulaa from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Ra Ra Rakkamma in the Telugu version of Vikrant Rona.
