Nahyan bin Mubarak inaugurates 2025 IOD Global Convention in UAE

Global participation and dignitaries The convention welcomed senior officials, business leaders, policymakers, and academics from around the world. Prominent attendees included Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Maj. Gen. Suhail Al Khaili, Indian Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir, and Abdulla Ahmed Al Saleh. Keynote address by Sheikh Nahyan In his address, Sheikh Nahyan praised the IOD–India for fostering strong UAE–India ties. He stressed ethical leadership and outlined four key traits: understanding organizational culture, embracing change, acting responsibly, and maintaining a global perspective. Honouring public sector excellence During the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan presented the IOD Distinguished Fellowship 2025 to Mohammed Al Marri and Abdulla Al Saleh in recognition of their governance and leadership contributions. Convention focus and theme The four-day convention, jointly organized by IOD India and Tristar Group UAE, gathers over 500 senior executives to discuss key topics such as ESG, artificial intelligence, climate action, stakeholder capitalism, and resilience strategies. Its central theme is 'Boards in a Rapidly Changing World.' Featured sessions and speakers Opening session speakers included Surinder Nath (President, IOD India), Nehal Vora (CEO, Central Depository Services), Campbell Wilson (CEO, Air India), Eugene Mayne (CEO, Tristar Group), and Sunjay Sudhir (Indian Ambassador to the UAE). Key highlights The agenda also features the UAE–India Investment and Cooperation Forum at the Indian Consulate in Dubai, and the Golden Peacock Awards 2025, which honour leadership, innovation, and sustainability. Shared commitment to growth and ethics The convention reflects a mutual commitment by governments and enterprises to ethical leadership, inclusive growth, and sustainable development, reinforcing UAE–India cooperation in the evolving global landscape.
