Troy man arrested on safe storage firearms charge after child was accidentally shot

Zanious Terell Murphy, 23, was arrested Thursday on a charge of violation of firearm safe storage causing serious injury to a minor. He had an arraignment hearing Friday at 52-4 District Court. Bond is set at $30,000, no 10%. The May 30 incident at a home on Crooks Road resulted in serious injuries to a 9-year-old boy, Troy Police Department reported. The child had emergency surgery as a result, and he remained in critical condition this week. The child's mother was in the home at the time of the shooting. There is no relation between Murphy and the 9-year-old child, other than living in the same residence, police said.

The department posted cell phone video images on social media. They were last seen at the Troy Aquatic Park (TAP) at around 4:30 p.m. on June 2. Increased police presence on roads expected Memorial Day weekend
Drivers may see more police on the roadways next weekend in Miami County, according to a spokesperson with Miami County Public Health. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Troy Police Chief Shawn McKinney and Miami County Sheriff Dave Duchak said they will have an increased presence on the roadways for Memorial Day Weekend. In the past year, people weren't wearing seat belts in more than 300 crashes in Miami County. The spokesperson said wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of deadly injury by more than 50%. Suspect arrested in deadly Troy shooting
TROY, Ala (WDHN) — An arrest has been made in a deadly shooting in Troy. Troy Police say 22-year-old Adrian Demond Moultry Jr. was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of murder. He is charged with the murder of 20-year-old Nyreesh Smith. Victim identified in deadly Troy shooting According to Troy Police, Smith was found shot to death in the 100 block of Dunn Circle on the night of Saturday, May 3. Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of a large crowd and loud noises, and when officers arrived on Dunn Circle, multiple gunshots were heard. Smith was found on the ground and pronounced dead on the scene. Moutlry Jr. was placed into the Pike County Jail and is being held without bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing. Detroit-Area Man Tries to Sell French Bulldog Back to Owner He Allegedly Stole It From, Here's What Happens Next
A Detroit dog owner was put through terrible distress in the search for his beloved French bulldog who wandered off. Luckily, he managed to find an online posting of his the cops are involved. The recent arrest of 24-year-old Malik Deshawn Motley stems from the chaotic scene from April 22. Police in Troy, Mich. said a local woman found a small French bulldog with a brindle-coat in her backyard that day, per the Detroit News. She then went to social media sharing the photo of the pup to see if she could locate the owner. The woman said she was contacted by Motley, who claimed the dog belonged to him. He even showed photo proof and additional information to substantiate his claim, per the report. Convinced Motley was the true dog dad, the woman returned the dog to him. However, later that day, she got another message from someone else claiming to be the real one. The two then tried to track down Motley to discuss the situation, but to no avail. Instead, police discovered that within the short amount of time following the mixup, Motley listed the bulldog for sale online. The two then came up with a clever scheme to try and get the dog back to its true owner. The report says they reported the incident to police as theft and on the back end, posed as an interested buyer to set up a meeting with Motley. The cops were on standby, waiting for the sale by DMC Children's Hospital. As soon as Motley pulled up, he was arrested and the Frenchie was given back to its rightful owner. Motley was charged with larceny of property worth more than $1,000. He's currently in Troy Police custody with a bond of $15,000. For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
