Chase Chrisley breaks silence on parents Todd and Julie's pardon from Trump
Savannah Chrisley isn't the only one celebrating President Trump's plan to pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley. After the commander-in-chief revealed that he planned to issue the pardon as early as Wednesday, her older brother, Chase Chrisley, exclusively told The Post, 'I am grateful to God and extremely grateful to President Trump and his entire administration. I'm beyond thankful to finally have my parents back home and my family together again!' The 28-year-old's reality star parents — known for USA Network's 'Chrisley Knows Best' — were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022 and are currently serving time in separate prisons. The TV couple was accused of defrauding the government by submitting fake documents to secure over $30 million in fraudulent loans. Todd, 56, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while his bride, Julie, 52, received a seven-year sentence. However, all that changed when Trump informed Savannah, 27, that he was planning to pardon them on Tuesday, May 27. 'Your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow,' he told Savannah in a phone call from the Oval Office. 'I don't know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life,' Trump continued. The video of their call was shared by White House communications adviser Margo Martin, who captioned the clip 'Trump Knows Best,' a nod to the Chrisleys' reality show. The pair started serving their time in minimum security facilities in January 2023, with Todd being locked up at FPC Pensacola in Florida and Julie spending her days at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Savannah, who later revealed she was heading into a Sam's Club when she got the call from Trump, thanked the president for her parents' upcoming pardons. 'We are freaking out over here. I have shed so many tears,' she said in a post on Instagram about her family. 'Both of my parents are coming home tonight or tomorrow, and I still don't believe it's real. I'm freaking out.' Savannah has been vocal about Todd and Julie's treatment during their legal battle, as well as her support for Trump. She even spoke about their case at the Republican National Convention in July and slammed the prosecutors who took on the case. Savannah isn't wasting another second on her parents' homecoming, revealing after the phone call that her family was 'getting some clothes together for Mom and Dad.' 'We're getting their room together upstairs, and I'm just speechless,' she added. 'My parents get to start their lives over.' The Chrisley family attorney, Alex Little, shared his thoughts on Trump's decision, telling Page Six that it 'corrects a deep injustice and restores two devoted parents to their family and community.' 'President Trump recognized what we've argued from the beginning: Todd and Julie were targeted because of their conservative values and high profile. Their prosecution was tainted by multiple constitutional violations and political bias,' his statement read. 'Todd and Julie's case is exactly why the pardon power exists. Thanks to President Trump, the Chrisley family can now begin healing and rebuilding their lives,' Little added. Savannah and Chase's younger brother, Grayson, 19, was also on the call with Trump when the president delivered the good news. 'Just congratulate your parents – I hear they are terrific people,' Trump told the siblings. 'This should not have happened.' The timing couldn't be better for the famous couple, as late last year, another attorney for the Chrisleys, Jay Surgent, exclusively told The Post that Todd was 'concerned about Julie's health and welfare' after the judge upheld her initial 84-month sentence at her resentencing hearing.
