Watch and Act - Chittaway Point flooding - Avoid the area
You should monitor the situation and avoid the area until further advised. There may be damaged infrastructure and dangerous hazards within the area. What are we expecting? Moderate flooding is occurring along the Tuggerah Lake. The Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty peaked at 1.37 metres around 01:00 am Saturday 24 May and is currently at 1.32 metres and steady, just above the moderate flood level. The Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (1.30 m) Saturday afternoon. The lake level is likely to remain above minor flood level (0.90 m) from Saturday afternoon into Sunday. This event may change quickly. NSW SES will monitor the situation and update warnings if the situation changes.

You should monitor the situation as it is constantly changing. Avoid floodwater for your safety. The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) NOT TO ENTER FLOODWATER due to predicted moderate flooding: What are we expecting? The Bureau of Meteorology advises Tuggerah Lake at Long Jetty may reach the moderate flood level (1.30 m) Friday afternoon. Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Tuggerah Lake catchment since Sunday, which has resulted in lake level rises and minor flooding at Long Jetty. Further rainfall is forecast across the catchment during Friday and may cause moderate flooding at Long Jetty from Friday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
