We told you how the Israeli striker is a top target for the Ibrox club Rangers have been told to up the ante in their pursuit of Dor Turgeman as Maccabi Tel Aviv reportedly told the Ibrox club £4million won't cut it. Record Sport revealed how the 21-year-old striker is wanted by the Light Blues as Russell Martin leads them into a new era. Turgeman is a top target but reports in Israel say the Israeli champions value him higher than the fee being discussed, however, Record Sport understands talks are ongoing. Israel Hayom report that Rangers 'will have to significantly increase the amount'. Ibrox scouts are said to have been watching Turgeman in action for 'several months', including for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League and for Israel against Estonia and Norway in March. The report states that ex-boss Philippe Clement had an input around that time and it has been rubber stamped by Martin. Dor Turgeman a Rangers transfer target as talks open over £4m swoop for 20 goal striker Russell Martin loves
The Israel international has netted 20 goals this season and is also attracting interest from Italy and Spain Rangers want to make Dor Turgeman one of Russell Martin's first captures. The Ibrox side has made the Israeli international one of their top summer targets. It could cost Gers around £4million to land the red-hot 21-year-old out of Maccabi Tel Aviv. Turgeman has netted an impressive 20 goals for Maccabi this season. Sources in Israel claim that Rangers have already opened talks with Maccabi over a potential summer move. Rangers' sporting director Kevin Thelwell came in and made Turgeman an immediate priority. Previous reports in his homeland also claimed that newly-appointed boss Martin, when he was at Southampton, was previously interested in the forward. Rangers know there is increasing interest in the player and the same Israeli source confirmed that Maccabi also have Italian and Spanish interest in their prize asset, who has eight caps and scored once for Israel. Thelwell is looking to revamp the Rangers playing squad and make full use of the investment from the new American owners, led by Andrew Cavenagh. The former Everton director of football has come in and brought a list of names to the table, while new boss Martin has also added to them.
