‘As a country we've lost a big one': DJ Boonu reacts to the passing of Presley Chweneyagae
Gqom artist DJ Boonu has expressed his sadness at the passing of actor Presley Chweneyagae.
News of the Oscar-winning actor's death sent shock waves across Mzansi on Tuesday.
In his deleted post Boonu, real name Andile Chili, shared: 'It's very sad. Presley was young and talented. #TwinBrother.'
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Boonu said it's sad he didn't get a chance to meet Presley as many people told him they look alike.
' Mzansi has lost a big asset in the acting fraternity. He made acting easy and fun. He proved that given any role he would improvise with fun elements. Condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.'
Presley died of natural causes this week aged 40, according to family spokesperson Mzwakhe Sigudla.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Mzwakhe revealed paramedics attempted to resuscitate Presley but he died after experiencing breathing issues.
'We want to put the record straight that it was a natural death as far as we are concerned. He had a complication in relation to breathing,' he said.
'Paramedics were called at home and he was attended to. We appreciate the professional nature of the paramedics.'
