2026 4-star safety out of Mississippi predicted to land with Texas A&M
After hosting 15 elite prospects from the 2026 recruiting class last weekend, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko and his productive coaching staff have received several predictions to land five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown, four-star offensive tackle Avery Morcho, and, as of Tuesday morning, Rivals Aggies insiders Mark Passwaters and Landyn Rosow have predicted the Aggies to land four-star safety Tylan Wilson out of Mississippi.
Wilson has been a Clemson target for quite some time. Still, after his official visit this weekend, Elko and defensive coordinator Jay Bateman, along with defensive back coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson, have put in the work over the last month. With all the defensive back talent headed to College Station in the future, Wilson can see himself as a long-term piece in the Aggie backfield.
In today's college football landscape, solid safety play is in high demand. Still, Texas A&M's 2026 safety rotation is only guaranteed to lose one starter in senior free safety Bryce Anderson, while sophomore Myles Davis and freshman Rashad Johnson represent the future starting rotation, which could now include Tylan Wilson.
On the field, Wilson is highly versatile and could play cornerback at the next level, but he should thrive as a box safety against the run due to his on-ball instincts and ability to make plays in the middle of the field.
Standing at 6-2 and 185 pounds, Wilson is currently positioned as Rivals' 13th-ranked safety, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Mississippi.
