Discover locally grown plants at Tryon Palace's Spring Plant Sale
NEW BERN, N.C (WNCT) — Tryon Palace in New Bern is hosting its annual Spring Plant Sale the weekend of Apr. 11-13, 2025.
There are roughly 500 locally grown plants to choose from. 'We are able to grow a lot of this stuff and that really helps for our local gardeners, because we can also say, 'Yes, we saw what it did this past winter. Yes, it went through snow. Yes, it went through ice. Yes, it went through 110-degree temperatures,'' Director of Facilities and Gardens at Tyron Palace Hadley Merizaldecheris said. 'And that really helps people have some faith in what they're putting in their yards and we want that to be the thing that when people get plants from us, they're able to look at it and go, 'Oh, yeah, I got that at Tryon Palace.''
The sale will be Saturday, Apr. 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Tryon Palace Gardens will also be open to the public and free for everyone.
