Massachusetts felon sentenced for firearm incident at bookstore
BOSTON (WWLP) – A felon living in Boston was sentenced to time served after police were called to a Roxbury bookstore for a man with a firearm.
In a news release from the Justice Department, in July 2020, officers were called for a person with a gun at the bookstore. When officers arrived, they found 44-year-old Tyrone Goforth, who fit the description. He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a Sig Sauer P938 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with five rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Due to a 2000 conviction in Suffolk Superior Court, Goforth is prohibited from possessing firearms. Goforth pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was sentenced to time served (66 months and one day), to be followed by three years of supervised release.
