FDOT traffic advisory for Walton County and Okaloosa County

FLORIDA (WMBB) – The Florida Department of Transportation has issued a traffic advisory starting on Sunday for those driving through Walton County and Okaloosa County. According to a news release, drivers may encounter traffic disruptions as crews will be performing construction and maintenance activities. The FDOT cautions drivers that 'all activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.' FDOT traffic advisory in Okaloosa County includes the following: Brooks Bridge Replacement Project – Drivers may encounter the following traffic disruptions, Sunday, April 27 through Thursday, May 1, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for utility work and construction activities: U.S. 98 alternating lane closures between Ferry Road and Pier Road. Santa Rosa Boulevard alternating lane closures from east of Amberjack Drive to Ross Marler Park. Interstate 10 (I-10) Resurfacing from west of Yellow River to east of Shoal River – Drivers will encounter alternating I-10 lane closures between mile markers 50 and 56, Sunday, April 27 through Thursday, May 1, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be paving the roadway. U.S. 98 Resurfacing from Josie Road to Florida Place Southeast – Drivers may encounter intermittent U.S. 98 lane closures, between Josie Road in Mary Esther and Florida Place Southeast in Fort Walton Beach, Sunday, April 27 through Thursday, May 1, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. for paving operations and for crews to place thermoplastic striping. State Road (S.R.) 85 Resurfacing & Safety Improvements from Hospital Drive to U.S. 90 – Drivers may encounter intermittent S.R. 85 lane closures, from Redstone Avenue to U.S. 90, Sunday, April 27 through Thursday, May 1, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete work and paving operations. Mid-Bay Bridge Rehabilitation Project – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures on the Mid-Bay Bridge, Sunday, April 27, through Thursday, May 1, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for construction activities. S.R. 85 Turn Lane Operations West of Hugo Lane – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for turn lane operations. U.S. 90 Routine Bridge Inspection over Shoal River – Motorists may encounter intermittent westbound lane closures east of S.R. 85 on Thursday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge inspection. FDOT traffic advisory for Walton County includes the following: U.S. 331 Resurfacing Project from south of I-10 to U.S. 90- The week of Sunday, April 27, two of the U.S. 331 northbound turn lanes will be temporarily closed at the U.S. 90 intersection in DeFuniak Springs. During this time, a single U.S. 331 lane will be available for left- and right-turn movements to access U.S. 90. The temporary traffic configuration will be in place through mid-June to provide space for construction activities at the southeast corner of the intersection. Additionally, drivers may experience intermittent U.S. 331 lane closures, from south of I-10 to U.S. 90, Sunday, April 27, through Thursday, May 1, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for construction activities. U.S. 331 Bridge Rehabilitation over Choctawhatchee Bay – Drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 28, through Thursday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for bridge repairs.
