Connecticut gets $7M in EPA grants for brownfields program

CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — Connecticut is getting some help cleaning up its brownfields, the U.S. Protection Agency announced Friday. The state was recently awarded almost $7 million in Brownfield Grants, which will go towards assessments, revolving loan fund, and cleanups. From rural towns to urban centers, we are helping communities across New England clean up contaminated sites and unlock new opportunities for economic growth and revitalization,' EPA Regional Administrator Mark Sanborn said. 2023: Connecticut receives $8.8M from EPA for brownfields program The grants received bipartisan support from Connecticut lawmakers, including Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Rep. John B. Larson, Rep. Joe Courtney, Rep. Jahana Hayes, and Rep. Jim Himes.
