Al-Ain to host 6th IMMAF Youth World Championships in July
ABU DHABI: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced that the sixth IMMAF Youth World Championships will be held in Al-Ain Region for the first time from July 21-27. For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport The tournament will be staged at the Al-Ain Convention Center with more than 1,000 male and female athletes from 60 countries competing in the championship's largest event to date. The championship, organized by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, or IMMAF, and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation for the fourth year in a row, serves as a global platform to discover emerging talents in mixed martial arts and to strengthen the UAE's position as a leading international sports destination. The championship is the culmination of a long-standing collaboration between IMMAF and the UAEJJF, with a prior agreement extended last year to continue hosting the event in Abu Dhabi for three more years, from 2025 to 2027. Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al-Dhaheri, UAE Jiu-Jitsu and IMMAF board member, said: 'We are committed to delivering an exceptional edition of the championship and take pride in hosting top emerging talents from around the world. 'This underlines the UAE's strong position as a prime platform for organizing and hosting big international competitions and a desirable destination for athletes worldwide. This tournament builds on the nation's successful sporting events, which have received considerable international praise. It also plays an important role in our attempts to expand the sport within the country by motivating our athletes to excel and earn top honors. 'The selection of Al-Ain Region is due to its historical significance, rich cultural heritage, tourist attractions and natural landscapes, which complement the championship's dynamic atmosphere to offer an unprecedented experience for participants and spectators,' he added. Abu Dhabi set for third round of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship
ABU DHABI: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced that the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship, round three for Gi competitors, will take place here from May 2 to 4 at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City. The second day will have the under-14 and under-16 competitors, and will conclude on the third day with the under-12 athletes. 18 Apr 2025 20:22 ABU DHABI (WAM) The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF) Board of Directors held its regular meeting on Wednesday at the Federation's headquarters in Abu Dhabi to evaluate the current season's achievements and review preparations for the 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu by Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAEJJF, President of the Ju-Jitsu Asian Union, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the meeting addressed upcoming continental and international competitions for the National expressed gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for their continued support of the sport. Huge turnout for NAS Sports Jiu-Jitsu Tournament 2025
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF), in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, has joined forces once again to organise this year's NAS Sports Jiu-Jitsu Tournament 2025 as part of the 12th edition of the NAS Sports Tournament. Set to take place on March 5 and 6 at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai, the event is a key fixture in the Ramadan sports calendar in the UAE. The NAS Sports Tournament is one of the country's largest multi-sport events held during the holy month, featuring 11 disciplines and drawing top athletes across different age groups. This year's jiu-jitsu competition has seen a massive response, with over 400 male and female athletes registering to compete, underscoring the sport's growing popularity in the UAE. The championship brings together top athletes from leading clubs and academies, with competitors across three divisions: teens (14–15 years), youth (16–17 years), and adults (18+). Fans can expect high-level contests as participants push their limits in pursuit of victory, while families and supporters will have the chance to witness intense matchups and cheer for their athletes. The action kicks off on Wednesday with the teen and youth divisions, followed by the adult category on Thursday. The tournament will showcase some of the finest talent in the local scene, reinforcing jiu-jitsu's rapid development in the UAE.
