Take note: All the major road closures happening this weekend
Major road closures this weekend… Motorists, watch out this weekend – road closures are incoming, this time for the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge and the UAE Tour Women 2025 cycling event. These are the names and roads you need to aware of if you're driving out and about in Dubai. The challenge will take place on Sunday, February 23, and the 92km race will block access to Hessa Street, Al Asayel Street, and Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan from 6.10am to 8.22pm. Since these areas toads connect and cover some key areas like Al Reem, Damac Hills, Mira, Town Square, Global Village, expect delays here. There will be no access to Hessa Street between 6.10am and 9.50am which will then affect traffic in Studio City, Motor City, Sports City, Jumeirah Golf Estates, Al Barsha, Al Barsha South, Tilal Al Ghaf and Jumeirah Village Circle. The shorter races will take place on Saturday, between 6.15am and 9.30am which means that Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nayan towards and from Expo City Dubai will be closed. Roads will be closed from 12.30pm for the participants to commence the race, until 4.30pm. at intervals as part of traffic management. Motorists have also been advised to use alternative routes such as Ras Al Khor Road and Emirates Road until the event concludes. Multiple road closures to affect Dubai on Thursday
Temporary road closures in Dubai will be in affect from 12:45pm on Thursday, due to the UAE Tour Women 2025 cycling event, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed. The race will begin at the Dubai Police Officer's Club on Latifa Hospital Street, and finish at Dubai Harbour, covering a distance of 149 kilometres. إليكم خريطة مسار طواف السيدات 2025، الذي يقام يوم الخميس 6 فبراير، حيث ينطلق في تمام الساعة 12:45 ظهرًا من أمام نادي ضباط شرطة دبي، إلى نقطة النهاية في دبي هاربر، لمسافة 149 كيلومتراً. يتضمن ترتيبات مسار الطواف إغلاقاً مؤقتاً لبعض الشوارع وإعادة فتحها خلف آخر متسابقة. تدعوكم… — RTA (@rta_dubai) February 5, 2025 Streets including Latifa Hospital Street, Oud Metha Road, Al Seef Street, Corniche Street, Al Khaleej Street, Omar bin Al Khattab Street, Baniyas Road, Rebat Street, Tripoli Street, Zayed bin Hamdan, Al Qudra Street, Sayh As Salam Street, Umm Suqeim Street, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and the Dubai Harbour area are affected. The race is due to finish around 4:40 p.m. The final road closure will reopen when the last cyclist crosses the finish line. The UAE Tour Women event is made up of four stages and runs until February 9. Stage 2 will take place between Al Dhafra Fort-Al Mirfa (111km), Stage 3 is between Al Ain Qasr Al Muwaiji-Jebel Hafeet, (152km) and Stage 4 takes place in Abu Dhabi Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Academy-Abu Dhabi Breakwater, (128km).
