Sharjah Triathlon draws 400 participants across all categories
The event concluded with an awards ceremony attended by Ahmed Al Shamsi, Vice President of the UAE Triathlon Federation; Dr Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events; and event executives Yousef Al Hosani and Khalid bin Faisal Al Qasimi. Sharjah Triathlon draws 400 participants across all categories
14 Apr 2025 18:18 SHARJAH (WAM) |The winners of the Sharjah Triathlon were crowned on Monday following exciting competitions held on Al Mamzar Corniche, with the participation of 400 male and female athletes, as part of the Sharjah Sports Council's community and sports events awarding ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the UAE Triathlon Federation, Ahmed Al Shamsi ; Director of Sports and Community Events, Dr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi; and several the Olympic category (1.5km swim, 40km cycling, 10km running), Marwan Al Bannai topped the UAE men's division, while Mariam Al Ali took first place in the UAE women's the open category, Oscar Marquez and Michelle Niguel won the men's and women's races, category (750m swim, 20km cycling, 5km run): UAE Men: 1st Abdullah Hassan Al Ali; UAE Women: 1st Kathloom Al Mazmi; Open Men: 1st Ali Al Zobaie; Open Women: 1st Lindsey the Sprint team category, the team of Omran Shaqir, Monjam Belgoutai, and Shreyas Bekoor came in first Sprint (350m swim, 10km cycling, 1.5km run): UAE Men: 1st Hamed Al Suraidi; Open Men: 1st Dr. Paton; Open Women: 1st Ana Laura. Sharjah Triathlon set for April 13 at Al Mamzar Corniche
The triathlon is being organized in partnership with the UAE Triathlon Federation along with various supporting organizations. To register, please visit the following link: Race Categories Details The race includes several categories: the Olympic distance with 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling, and 10 km running; the Sprint category with 750 meters swimming, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running; the Super Sprint with 350 meters swimming, 10 km cycling, and 2.5 km running; and the Junior category with 150 meters swimming, 5 km cycling, and 1.5 km running. The races will begin at 6:00 AM and conclude at 10:00 AM. Memorabilia for Participants Every participant will be awarded a race shirt featuring the branding of the Sharjah Sports Council. The medals are uniquely crafted to symbolize the triathlon, showcasing the race name in both Arabic and English.
