Man pepper sprayed, robbed in Berkeley; suspects at large
The Brief Three suspects met with the victim on Frank Schlessinger Way under the guise of purchasing watches. The suspects pepper sprayed the man and took his property. University of California and BART police are still searching for the robbers. BERKELEY, Calif. - A man was pepper sprayed and robbed in Berkeley on Monday afternoon, and police are searching for the three suspects who assaulted and stole from him. The three suspects met with the victim about 5 p.m. near the University of California, Berkeley Environment, Health & Safety Hazardous Materials Facility located on Frank Schlessinger Way "to purchase several watches," according to University of California police. The three suspects pepper sprayed the man, took the watches and fled westbound on Frank Schlessinger Way, police said. Officers with the UCPD and BART Police Department searched for the robbers, but could not find them in the area. Police are investigating the robbery, and the suspects are still at large. UC Berkeley stabbing puts campus on edge with manhunt for 3 suspects
A manhunt is underway for three suspects involved in a stabbing late Saturday night at the University of California, Berkeley. A University of California Police Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital that officers responded to the west parking lot of the Lawrence Hall of Science at around 11:50 p.m., where they found a young man with several stab wounds. In a university-wide message, police said they were looking for three people in black clothing who were connected to the stabbing, according to SFGATE. POLICE TAKE DOWN STABBING, ARSON SUSPECT AT MARYLAND'S NATIONAL HARBOR "The suspects fled the scene, and their current location is unknown," the alert said. "UCPD is actively searching for them, and this case is under investigation." The University of California Police Department didn't respond to questions from Fox News Digital about how it's keeping the campus safe with the three suspects on the loose. On April 22, a 23-year-old man was stabbed several times near campus, according to the East Bay Times. The victim was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Timothy Lawrence, 19, was arrested at the scene and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a stolen vehicle. Another suspect was also arrested. Police didn't release his name but said he's a 24-year-old from Fremont, California, and was charged on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury and delaying or obstructing a police officer.

A Washington state father is pressing for answers about the investigation into his 18-year-old daughter's on-campus death at a California university earlier this year. Liz Hamel, 18, was found unconscious outside a dorm on the campus of the University of California Santa Barbara Feb. 14 after apparently falling from a breezeway. She died days later. But what happened leading up to her death remains a mystery. "Over the past few months, we've been briefed by UC Santa Barbara PD, and they've been very kind to us. They've been … empathetic. But, of course, since it's an ongoing investigation, they can't give us a tremendous amount of details," Alain Hamel, Liz's father, told Fox News "America Reports" co-anchor Sandra Smith in an interview Friday. They really helped us so much to move the investigation forward," Hamel said. "I'm not the police. I am on the outside, but it seems like they really moved it forward." "The investigation is still ongoing, and we cannot discuss any additional details at this time. UCPD is keeping the family informed and is working closely with (the) Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office. And, yeah, they were photographed together only from a certain angle. And then they left a little after 10:06 (p.m.). And then, to my knowledge, at 10:27 is when she was found unconscious, having fallen from that breezeway." "She was great," Hamel said of his daughter. "She was our world. She's our only child. And she was everything to us. She was a real joy. And you know, we were so lucky to have 18 years with her. We wish we had more time."
