Kurt Holobaugh vs. Jordan Leavitt joins UFC on ESPN 68 lineup A pair of UFC lightweights will look to rebound when they square off in May. Kurt Holobaugh (21-9 MMA, 2-6 UFC) takes on Jordan Leavitt (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) in a three-round bout May 31 at UFC on ESPN 68 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Holobaugh, who punched his ticket back to the UFC by winning Season 31 of "The Ultimate Fighter" in 2023, has split his past four appearances. After picking up a unanimous decision win over Kaynan Kruschewsky at UFC on ESPN 60 last July, Holobaugh lost a decision to Alexander Hernandez at UFC Fight Night 254 in March. Leavitt, 29, has lost two of his past three. UFC's Marvin Vettori mourns tragic death of younger brother after house fire in Italy
Marvin Vettori is mourning the death of his brother as the former UFC middleweight title challenger announced Tuesday that he died. According to Italian news station TgCom24, Patrick Vettori died in a house fire. He was 30. TgCom24 reported that a fire broke out at Patrick's apartment in Mezzocorona located in the province of Trento in northern Italy. Stunned by the news, Marvin, 31, shared a heartbreaking tribute to his brother on Instagram, which included a series of childhood photos. 'You were and always will be number 1 my little brother!' Marvin wrote. 'You left a void that cannot be filled. I will love you until my last breath. I don't think I'll be the same after today because maybe I never told you, but you've always been my strength.' Since losing his lone title fight to Israel Adesanya in June 2021, Marvin Vettori (19-7-1 MMA, 9-6-1 UFC) is 2-3 in his past five bouts. He's currently on a two-fight skid after most recently losing a unanimous decision to Roman Dolidze last month in the UFC Fight Night 254 main event. It was Vettori's first fight after a 19-month layoff.

A matchup between rising bantamweights has been added to UFC on ESPN 66. Da'Mon Blackshear(16-7-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) takes on Alatengheili (17-9-2 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) April 26 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Blackshear will make a very quick turnaround after competing less than three weeks ago. The 30-year-old was able to snap a two-fight losing skid with submission finishes over Cody Stamann, and most recently Cody Gibson at UFC Fight Night 254 in March. Fight Ready's Alatengheili has won three of his past four. He hasn't competed since a unanimous decision win over Kleydson Rodrigues at UFC Fight Night 241 this past May. Roman Dolidze responds to Robert Whittaker's 'pub fight' criticism: 'He got destroyed in his last fight'
Roman Dolidze fired back at Robert Whittaker for criticizing his past fight at UFC Fight Night 254. Dolidze (14-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) called out both Israel Adesanya and Whittaker (26-8 MMA, 17-6 UFC) after avenging his loss to Marvin Vettori in their main event earlier this month at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Whittaker shut down the callout. The former UFC middleweight champion said Dolidze's rematch with Vettori was a continuation of their first fight at UFC 286, and resembled a pub brawl. Dolidze didn't appreciate Whittaker's comments, and returned fire by mocking his quick submission loss to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308. 'This is a talking guy who was knocked out a couple of times and he got destroyed in his last fight,' Dolidze said of Whittaker in an interview with Home of Fight. 'It's even funny to me to listen to a guy like that. Yes, I will always respect my opponents and fighters. He's a great fighter, he was a great champion, but listen: You're speaking too loud. You need to prove that you are so tough. 'If you're on your downfall, it doesn't mean anything. If you're scared to say normal words and speak normally – he's not a person whose words I can take like that. It's too loud for him to speak like that. We already saw what he's capable of doing and how many times he was stopped, and he tapped. Me and Vettori are two guys who have never been stopped before.' Dolidze is currently on a three-fight winning streak – defeating former title challenger Anthony Smith, stopping Kevin Holland, and most recently a unanimous decision over Vettori in their rematch.
