UFC's Mateusz Gamrot explains dislike for 'arrogant' Paddy Pimblett
UFC's Mateusz Gamrot explains dislike for 'arrogant' Paddy Pimblett Mateusz Gamrot is not a fan of fellow UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett. Gamrot (24-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) mocked Pimblett (22-4 MMA, 7-0 UFC) after he was brought to tears watching his teammate Molly McCann retire after UFC Fight Night 255 in London. He explained why he has an issue with Liverpool native, who finds himself on the cusp of title contention after a dominant finish of Michael Chandler at UFC 314. "I don't like this guy," Gamrot said on "The Ariel Helwani Show." "He talks too much. He's arrogant from England. He has talked some things about me many times. I'd love to meet him in the octagon because his way to this position he has right now was so easy. If he gets a good opponent against him, I don't think he wins this fight. I'd love fight with him. He's from Europe, I am from Europe. "If the UFC makes this fight, I think it's going to be the biggest fight in the lightweight division for Europe. My opinion, he's great stylistic (matchup) for me, and I'll beat him for sure. He's a grappler, I am grappler. I love scrambling with somebody on the ground because my previous opponent (Hooker) was only a striker. The ground was fire for everybody, and everybody stands up. I'd love to roll with somebody on the ground." Gamrot meets Ludovit Klein (23-4-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) in a three-round bout May 31 at UFC on ESPN 68 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He explains why he wound up drawing an unranked lightweight. "I tried to find somebody from rankings to get a good fight, but everybody was booked or nobody wanted to fight with me," Gamrot said. "I told the UFC it doesn't matter. Give me someone without ranking because I want to stay busy this year. I just want to fight and show how I have improved my MMA skills."

Welterweight record holders Neil Magny, Gunnar Nelson booked for UFC 318 in New Orleans
Gunnar Nelson is making a quick turnaround – by his standards – for a showdown with the busiest fighter the UFC welterweight division has ever seen. Nelson (19-6-1 MMA, 10-6 UFC), the man with the most submission victories in UFC welterweight history, will take on all-time divisional wins leader Neil Magny (29-13 MMA, 22-12 UFC) at UFC 318 on the July 19 card from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+). The promotion announced the matchup Friday on social media (via X). Your #UFC318 card just gets better and better 🔥🇮🇹 @MarvinVettori vs @BrendanAllenMMA 🇺🇸🇺🇸 @NeilMagny vs @GunniNelson 🇮🇸 — UFC Europe (@UFCEurope) May 16, 2025 Nelson is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Kevin Holland at UFC Fight Night 255 in March. It was his first bout in more than two years, prior to which he earned wins over Bryan Barberena and Takashi Sato. The 36-year-old said before the Holland fight that he intended to be more active, and that is indeed the case as he will compete more than once in a calendar year since 2019. After taking on a string of four consecutive bouts against surging names at 170 pounds in Carlos Prates, Michael Morales, Mike Malott, and Ian Machado Garry, where he went 1-3, longtime veteran Magny will finally get an opponent more fitting to his age bracket. The 37-year-old stands alone at the top of the divisional victories list, with his 22 far exceeded that of second-place Georges St-Pierre, who has 19. The latest UFC 318 lineup now includes: Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier – for BMF title Brendan Allen vs. Marvin Vettori Ikram Aliskerov vs. Brunno Ferreira Amanda Ribas vs. Tabatha Ricci Neil Magny vs. Gunnar Nelson Islam Dulatov vs. Adam Fugitt This article originally appeared on MMA Junkie: UFC 318: Welterweight record holders set to clash in New Orleans

Sean Brady won't wait for UFC title shot, says Ian Machado Garry fight to make
Sean Brady won't wait for UFC title shot, says Ian Machado Garry fight to make Sean Brady is honest about where he stands in the UFC welterweight title picture. Although Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) had earned the No. 1 spot in the rankings with a dominant submission of former champion Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 255, he knows he'll need at least one more win before getting his title shot – especially after Jack Della Maddalena (18-2 MMA, 8-0 UFC) dethroned Belal Muhammad (24-4 MMA, 15-4 UFC) to become champion in Saturday's UFC 315 headliner in Montreal. "I knew if Jack won that I'd be fighting again, which I'm fine with," Brady said on "The Ariel Helwani Show." "Of course I want the title shot, but there's still Shavkat (Rakhmonov) there, there's Islam (Makhachev) saying he's moving up. You have Kamaru (Usman) and (Joaquin) Buckley saying whoever wins that's getting a title shot. So, we're all going to have to fight." Brady has turned his attention to Ian Machado Garry (16-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC), who weighed in as the backup for the title fight between Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena. "I'm going to have to fight Ian Garry eventually," Brady said. "Why not just do it now and just get it out of the way? If I'm as good as I think I am. I would fight Shavkat for the No. 1 contender, but he made a tweet with a surgeon next to him, so no one knows. He says he's coming back in October. That really means he's probably coming back the end of the year or even next year. "Me and Ian had a little interaction at the fight. He was at the end of the isle, I was at the beginning, and he was like asking me what I thought from across the way. I was like, 'Me and you, that's what I think. I think me and you are going to have to fight now because we can't all wait around for a title shot.'"
