Trump says White House signed a big deal with China, a ‘very big' one with India to follow
Washington, June 27 (UNI) US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the White House signed a deal with China a day ago, and another agreement may be coming up with India. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told Bloomberg TV that the deal was signed earlier this week. Neither Lutnick nor Trump provided any details about the agreement. "We just signed with China the other day," Trump said late Thursday, skipping details. The move follows the US-China talks in Geneva in early May that led both sides to postpone massive tariff hikes that were greatly hampering their economies, and threatened to freeze much trade between the two countries. Later talks in London set a framework for negotiations and the deal mentioned by Trump appeared to formalise that agreement. "The President likes to close these deals himself. He's the dealmaker. We're going to have deal after deal," Lutnick said. Beijing on its part did not say anything, though it did confirm that it was accelerating a review of export licence applications for rare earths and had approved "a certain number of compliant applications." Trump further said that the US may sign a "very big" deal with India soon, though he did not state specifics. 'Where we're going to open up India, in the China deal, we're starting to open up China. Things that never really could have happened, and the relationship with every country has been very good,' Trump added. UNI ANV PRS

Khamenei claims victory over Israel & US in first televised address since ceasefire
Tehran, June 26 (UNI) In his first televised message since a ceasefire ended the 12-day long Israel-Iran war, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed victory over Israel, stating that Tehran 'delivered a hand slap to America's face,' reports The Times of Israel. Khamenei, who has been in hiding since the war started, delivered his address in a video broadcast on Iranian state television, his first appearance since June 19, looking very fatigued. As in the previously reported tweets, he alleged that the US had only intervened in the war because 'it felt that if it did not intervene, the Zionist regime would be utterly destroyed.' He also claimed that Iran's armed forces managed to break through Israel's multilayered defence systems, and target urban and military sites. While Israel had confirmed that some enemy missiles did manage to enter the country, there has been minimal damage to personnel and infrastructure, which greatly contrasts Iran's own position, with several key leaders eliminated, and massive damage dealt to Iranian military infrastructure. Adding that Washington 'achieved no gains from this war,' he stated that US President Donald Trump had greatly 'exaggerated' the impact of US strikes on the country's three premier nuclear sites. 'They attacked our nuclear facilities, which of course would merit criminal prosecution in international courts, but they did nothing significant,' he said. Khamenei further alleged that Trump 'exaggerated events in unusual ways, and it turned out that he needed this exaggeration — anyone who has heard these words has understood that there is another truth behind these words.' 'Trump, in one of his speeches, said Iran needs to surrender. This is too big for him to ask. Trump has unveiled the truth that the US will only be satisfied with Iran's surrender,' he added. The supreme leader further said that Tehran's enemies 'use excuses like missiles or the nuclear program, but are actually looking for our surrender. Surrender will never happen. Our nation is powerful.' Referencing the Iranian missile strike on a US base in Qatar, he said that Iran's ability to potentially reach major US military bases is a considerable achievement and added that such actions could be repeated if aggression is renewed, even though the Iranian strike caused no damage to the base as it was quickly intercepted. 'The Islamic Republic was victorious and, in retaliation, delivered a hand slap to America's face,' claimed Khamenei. The 86-year-old hasn't been seen in public since taking shelter in a secret location after the outbreak of the war on June 13, when Israel attacked Iranian nuclear facilities and targeted top military commanders and scientists. Khamenei warned that any future aggression against Iran will come at a great cost. UNI ANV PRS

Netanyahu says war against Iran has ignited a ‘light to freedom' for Iranians
Tel Aviv/Tehran, June 17 (UNI) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called Israel's ongoing war with Iran a campaign to rid the country of its "evil rulers", stating that the regime's days were numbered, and 'a light' to 'freedom' has been lit. "A light has been lit — carry it to freedom,' Netanyahu told Iran International. Netanyahu said Israel's military campaign against Iran is giving its people a chance to topple the Islamic Republic, adding that the ruling system's days were numbered. 'This is the time,' he said. 'Your hour of freedom is near — it's happening now.' Calling the regime an enduring threat against Israel with its nuclear weapons ambitions and ballistic missile programmes, he said that the 'tyrants of Iran' would stop at nothing short of the complete destruction of the Jewish state. Stating that Iran's project for Israel's destruction was to be carried out in two stages, he said 'One is to rush forward with their nuclear programme to develop atomic bombs to destroy Israel. "Second, they've programmed to build a vast missile, ballistic missile arsenal … Each missile carrying a one-ton payload, just slamming into our cities, killing our women, our children.' 'They were going to build 20,000 of these,' he added. Netanyahu called Israel's ongoing campaign as both a defensive war and an opportunity for the leadership in Tehran to be overthrown. 'This is evil against good, and it's time for good people to stand up with the good, the good people of Iran, and good people everywhere against this madness foisted on all of us by this radical tyranny. It's about to end.' He went to add that while Tehran feared Israel, its biggest fear was its own people, due to the regime's massive unpopularity in the country. 'These dictators in Iran, sure they fear us — but they fear you, the people of Iran, even more,' he said. 'They understand that 80 per cent of Iranians despise them." Netanyahu said Israel's precision targeting had already knocked out key parts of Iran's nuclear infrastructure and missile production capabilities. '(We) knocked out their chief nuclear team, their nuclear sites… we're knocking out their ballistic missile production,' he said. 'We still have a way to go, but we'll finish it.' Netanyahu said Iran could be made "great again" and that Iran's people were its future. 'I believe in you. I respect you. I admire you. I know your achievements. I know your potential. I know that Iran can be great again. It was a great civilisation, and this theological thuggery that has kidnapped your country, will not stand for long, and you are the future, not them.' UNI ANV PRS
