CAIRO, June 2 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's continued support for Lebanon and its government and national institutions. He expressed Egypt's total rejection of any infringement upon Lebanon's sovereignty or territorial integrity, stressing the need to implement the ceasefire agreement and ensure the full and immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, as well as the comprehensive enforcement of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 by all parties, without selectivity. The minister's remarks were made during a meeting on Monday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which the two ministers held political consultations on bilateral ties and regional developments, including the situation in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon, in addition to maritime security in the Red Sea and the ongoing US–Iran negotiations. Abdelatty reviewed Egypt's intensive efforts, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, to resume the ceasefire agreement, facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and drum up international support for recognizing the Palestinian state, based on the two-state solution. Shifting to Syria, Abdelatty stressed Egypt's full commitment to supporting the Syrian people, and respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria. Syria should be a source of stability in the region, Abdelatty said, calling for launching a comprehensive political process that includes all segments of the Syrian society to overcome this critical phase. The consultations also addressed developments in the Red Sea. In this regard, Abdelatty underlined the importance of safeguarding the freedom of navigation, and the dire need to restore calm to the region. The foreign minister welcomed the anticipated positive impact of the recent agreement in Yemen with the United States on maritime security and international trade movement in the Red Sea. Minister Abdelatty listened to his Iranian counterpart's assessment of the outcomes of the five rounds of negotiations between Iran and the US on the Iranian nuclear program. He expressed hope that these negotiations would be successfully concluded, leading to a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful settlement that would contribute to defusing tensions, promoting calm, and preventing further escalation and instability in the region. OPEN// Sisi: Egypt continues int'l contacts for immediate Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon
CAIRO, May 19 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt continues its intensive efforts and contacts with different regional and international parties to press Israel to immediately and unconditionally withdraw from all Lebanese territories and respect an agreement to cease hostilities, as well as to fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which involves deploying the Lebanese army south of the Litani River. Sisi made the remarks during a joint press conference that he held on Monday with visiting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. During the presser, President Sisi reiterated his call for the international community to assume its responsibility for the reconstruction of Lebanon, urging international organizations and donors to effectively participate in this process. President Sisi added that he and the Lebanese president reaffirmed their firm stance on supporting the Palestinian issue, while rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians and liquidate their just cause. President Sisi and his Lebanese counterpart called on the international community to mobilize the necessary resources for enforcing the Gaza reconstruction plan and enable the Palestinian Authority to run Gaza, while expanding recognitions of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, for being the only guarantee to reach permanent peace and achieve stability in the region. Baghdad Summit: Lebanese PM demands Israeli withdrawal
Shafaq News/ On Saturday, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam urged international pressure on Israel to withdraw from all occupied Lebanese territory and condemned its ongoing military operations in Gaza. Speaking at the Arab League summit in Baghdad, Salam affirmed Lebanon's full compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and its commitment to the 2006 ceasefire. Salam also asserted that Lebanon's legitimate government exclusively holds decision-making authority over matters of war and peace, underscoring state sovereignty amid escalating tensions. His remarks followed an Israeli drone strike earlier that killed a civilian in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. On Palestine, Salam reaffirmed Lebanon's rejection of any forced displacement and backed the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative as a framework for resolving the conflict, reiterating support for Palestinian self-determination and called for renewed diplomatic engagement. He accused Israel of persistent violations and 'systematic destruction' in Gaza, calling the lack of international accountability a key factor fueling further escalation. 'The absence of consequences encourages continued violence.' Salam also expressed Lebanon's readiness to coordinate with Damascus to facilitate the voluntary return of about two million refugees, describing it as essential for easing internal and regional pressures.

Israeli Enemy Continues Daily Violations of Lebanese Sovereignty, Targets Army and Civilians
The Israeli occupation escalated its daily violations of Lebanese sovereignty on Saturday, launching fresh aerial assaults that struck both civilian areas and Lebanese Army positions in southern Lebanon. An Israeli drone fired two missiles near a Lebanese Army post along the Markaba–Tallousah road. No casualties were reported among military personnel or civilians. In a related incident, another hostile drone targeted a civilian vehicle in the town of Khartoum, in the Saida District, causing material damage but no injuries. The deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure marks a dangerous escalation, posing a direct threat to the lives of non-combatants. On the ground, Al-Manar's correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces stationed at the Ramtha post opened heavy machine gun fire toward the outskirts of Kfar Shouba, in blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which mandates a cessation of hostilities in southern Lebanon. In a notable development, an Israeli reconnaissance drone equipped with a loudspeaker was observed flying over the Majidiyeh area and its surrounding fields. The drone broadcast direct threats to local farmers, warning them against the use of motorcycles—an apparent attempt to impose a de facto blockade and restrict daily agricultural activity. These repeated aggressions form part of a broader Israeli policy of pressure and escalation. Despite the mounting attacks and threats, the people of southern Lebanon continue to stand firm—upholding their right to their land and to live in safety.
