Step up vigil on urban Naxals in Varanasi region, CM tells officials

Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed officials and police to strengthen security measures and vigilance, especially on urban Naxals, in view of the success of Operation Sindoor by the Indian armed reviewing the progress of development projects in PM Narendra Modi's constituency of Varanasi and the law and order at a meeting with officials and public representatives at the circuit house here, Yogi asked officials to focus on security measures and law and order in the district following the success of Operation Sindoor.

The PWD was instructed to connect drains of buildings along roads to the main drains for proper drainage. The municipal corporation was directed to clean all drains before the monsoon and remove silt from the reviewing the law and order in Varanasi and the adjoining region, Yogi ordered quick action on criminals and reiterated his govt's zero tolerance policy against crime and criminals. He directed the timely and quality completion of ongoing projects in the district. Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam apprised the CM about the progress of various ongoing projects in the district, stating that about 60 projects worth Rs 14,000 crore are under construction. Police commissioner Mohit Agarwal and ADG zone Piyush Mordia gave a presentation on the achievements in curbing crime and measures initiated for improvement in law and order in the district.
