WNBA Rookie of the Year odds: Who is Paige Bueckers biggest competition? Show Caption Hide Caption Diana Taurasi believes the 'physicality' of the WNBA decreasing USAT's Meghan Hall catches up with WNBA legend Diana Taurasi and her reaction the the Fever-Sky game and how the physical aspect of the W is changing. Sports Seriously The hype behind the last two WNBA rookie classes has been remarkable. Last year, the addition of Caitlin Clark took the Indiana Fever from basement-dwellers to playoff contenders in no time at all. Now, this year, Paige Bueckers is expected to elevate the Dallas Wings in a similar manner. Alas, the Wings are tied for the worst record in the WNBA at 0-4. While Bueckers herself is having a fine season statistically, her team's lack of success could prove a hindrance to her WNBA Rookie of the Year hopes. That said, we are still very early in the season. After all, Clark's Fever started the season 0-5 before turning things around. Still, there are numerous other rookies looking to prove themselves and add the hardware to their own trophy cases. Here is how the league's top first-year players rank by Rookie of the Year odds. When is Caitlin Clark returning to the Fever? Here's the latest on her injury recovery. Show Caption Hide Caption Caitlin Clark says this is the most intimidating thing about the Fever Caitlin Clark tells USAT's Meghan Hall what the Indiana Fever's scariest strengths are this season in the WNBA. Sports Seriously Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark recently suffered an injury and will miss several games as she begins her recovery process. According to her team, Clark suffered a left quadriceps strain and is out for "a minimum of two weeks" for the Fever. Clark is currently averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 9.3 assists with 1.3 steals and 1.0 block per game so far this season. Indiana (2-2) is not off to a dominant start in the standings, though, and Clark's absence is certainly notable as the team looks to play a bit better moving forward. The good news, however, is that Indiana does not have a particularly tough stretch of their schedule coming up. All four of their upcoming games are against teams that do not currently have a winning record in 2025. That includes game against the Connecticut Sun and the Chicago Sky, both of whom are winless so far this season. Clark may miss multiple games in the Commissioner's Cup, but could potentially return in time for when the Fever face the defending champion New York Liberty on June 14.

Watch livestream as funeral coverage for Pope Francis begins at St. Peter's Basilica

Live coverage of the funeral for Pope Francis will be provided by USA Today, along with major news networks and the Vatican. USAT's live coverage begins at 3 a.m. ET. Saturday, April 26. The pope, 88, died Easter Monday, April 21, from a stroke and irreversible heart failure after spending weeks in the hospital battling several health issues. He had been released from the hospital March 23. He had been lying in state since April 23 in St. Peter's Basilica, where mourners lined up by the thousands to pay their respects. Friday night, the Rite of Sealing of the Coffin, marked the end of public viewing in St. Peter's Basilica, according to Vatican News. Here's what you should know. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. local time, Saturday, April 26, for Pope Francis. Converting the time places the funeral at 4 a.m. ET. USA TODAY will stream the funeral live. Click here to watch. Live coverage will begin at 3 a.m. ET. Other major news networks — including Fox News, CNN, BBC, NBC, ABC and CBS — also will offer live coverage of the funeral services. Vatican News also will provide live coverage on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. The Dicastery for Communication will provide live radio and television commentary in 15 languages and four sign languages to "ensure the widest possible audience can follow the events." The funeral will take place in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City. The funeral marks "the beginning of the Novemdiales, an ancient tradition of nine days of mourning and Masses for the repose of the late Pope's soul," according to Vatican News. Pope Francis announced in 2024 he would be breaking with traditions when it comes to his burial and casket. Francis had asked to be buried in a simple wooden casket instead of the typical interlocking cypress, lead, and oak casket, reflecting his dedication to humble simplicity in life. After the funeral service, a procession will take the pope to St. Mary Major Basilica, instead of in the crypt of St. Peter's Basilica, where many of his predecessors have been buried. Among those who planned to attend the pope's funeral were: President Trump and his wife, Melania Javier Milei, the president of Francis' home country of Argentina Prince William of Wales Spain's King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva France President Emmanuel Macron Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni Polish President Andrzej Duda British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen Trump issued a proclamation on Monday, April 21, ordering flags across the U.S. to be flown at half-staff. "As a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment," Trump said in a post on Truth Social. "I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations. USA Today ranks square in Mississippi college town among the best in the nation. See why

A charming Mississippi city has been named among the best public squares in the nation. The USA Today ranking looked for the best places that act like the heartbeat of American cities, serving as a gathering place for live entertainment, community events and more. Now, one Mississippi college town has bragging rights. It's town square ranked among the Top 5 nationwide, among cities like New Orleans, Detroit, Cincinnati and Philadelphia. An expert panel nominated the places they thought were the most significant to the people who live in, near the towns and how historically important they are. Editors reviewed the list and gave the public four weeks to vote. One Mississippi town stood out for its phenomenal food, art, local shopping options and festivals. Here's what we know about the ranking. "The Square in Oxford, Mississippi, features well-preserved architecture, and it hosts diverse boutiques, art galleries, and local shops, including the oldest department store in the South, and is renowned for its dining options from down-home Southern cooking to haute cuisine. The Square is also a cultural hub, hosting special events and festivals," USAT wrote. The town's historic Square is surrounded by Square Books and restaurants including City Grocery, St. Leo, Ajax and Tico's. The city, with a population of 27,000 is between Clarksdale and Tupelo and south of Memphis. It's known for literature, football and great food. World-famous author William Faulkner lived there and wrote about it as Yoknapatawpha County, and best-selling author John Grisham more recently called it home. Earlier this year, HGTV named Oxford one of the the most charming small towns in America. And World Atlas named it among the South's 12 best towns to retire. It noted Oxford is affordable with access to college football and thriving culture, including art and dining options. It's also close to some great places to spend time outdoors, enjoying nature.
