$4M Lamborghini luxury yacht ‘flipped over' off Miami Beach, 32 stranded passengers rescued

This cruise was a total washout. A $4 million luxury yacht out for a spin in the waters off Miami Beach went under over the weekend, leaving 32 soaked passengers stranded on the upscale capsized boat, officials said. The high-end yacht, identified by Yachts Worldwide as a Tecnomar for Lamborghini, began taking on water near Florida's millionaire haven of Star Island around 5 pm Saturday, and was soon nearly vertical in the water, leaving passengers and crew stranded on the deck, the Coast Guard said on Instagram. 4 A $4 million Lamborghini yacht out for a cruise near Miami Beach sank on Saturday. USCG Southeast 4 The US Coast Guard said 32 people were rescued from a sinking $4 million yacht off MIami Beach. USCG Southeast 'We saw, like, a bunch of cop boats, like police boats, and there was another yacht that was flipped over, completely vertical in the water,' eyewitness Rachel Miller told WSVN-TV News. All of the passengers were eventually taken safely to shore by authorities and a good Samaritan boat. Photos of the mishap show the 63-foot, black-and-white yacht barely sticking out of the water, with the stranded passengers, many wearing life vests, standing on top waiting to be rescued. 4 The US Coast Guard said the sunken $4 million yacht was towed away from the shipping channel. USCG Southeast Officials said they were taken to the Miami Beach Marina. 'Commercial salvage is attempting to remove the vessel and isn't a hazard to navigation,' the Coat Guard's Southeast command said on Instagram. 'Special thank you to the good Samaritan boat operators in the vicinity who also rendered assistance.' 4 The owner of the yacht has not been identified yet. USCG Southeast Authorities have not identified the owner of the yacht nor details of why it went under. Meanwhile, the rescued boaters seemed to take the whole ordeal in stride. 'No f–ks given,' one Instagram commenter noted. 'Everyone on the sinking yacht taking selfies.' The Tecnomar is a limited-edition fleet of just 11 ships designed by the high-end Italian car maker. One such boat belongs to former MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who bought his for $3.6 million in 2021.
