Summary Get ready for a new chapter of terror, as the Xenomorph finally comes to released the highly anticipated official trailer forAlien: Earth, the new sci-fi horror series that marks the first time the iconic franchise brings its terrifying creatures to our home planet. The series, created by Emmy winner Noah Hawley and executive produced byRidley Scott, is a prequel set in the year 2120, two years before the events of the original Alien film. The plot kicks off when the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth. Its arrival unleashes mysterious, predatory life forms – including the infamous Xenomorph – onto a planet already grappling with a 'Corporate Era' dominated by five mega-corporations and the rise of advanced synthetics and 'hybrids.' The trailer introduces Sydney Chandler as Wendy, a 'hybrid' (a humanoid robot infused with human consciousness) and the first prototype from Prodigy Corporation, who finds herself face-to-face with humanity's greatest threat. The footage is packed with chilling visuals, hinting at claustrophobic ship hallways, intense encounters with various alien life forms (with one character ominously stating the ship 'collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe,' and one being 'predatory,' suggesting even a Predator could appear), and the terrifying realization that the 'perfect organism' has arrived on Earth. The cast also includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, and Samuel Blenkin, among Earthis the firs time Scott's franchise hits the small screens. Alien: Earthwill premiere with its first two episodes on August 12, 2025, at 8 PM on FX, with new episodes following weekly. It will also be available to stream on Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally.

Noah Hawley Gives a Surprise Twist to Ridley Scott's Franchise with Prequel Series ‘Alien: Earth' — Watch Trailer

Noah Hawley is trading 'Fargo' for a more out of this world location: space. Hawley is the showrunner for 'Alien' franchise prequel series 'Alien: Earth,' which is set in 2120. The eight-episode series takes place prior to the events of Ridley Scott's 'Alien.' Sydney Chandler leads the show, along with Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Adarsh Gourav, Essie Davis, Kit Young, and Samuel Blenkin. The official synopsis reads: 'When the mysterious deep space research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, Wendy (Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat. In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. This is the first TV iteration of the long-running sci-fi franchise, which spans nine films (the most recent of which is Fede Alvarez's 'Alien: Romulus'). Hawley told IndieWire that he spoke to auteur Scott while making 'Alien: Earth.' Scott's Scott Free banner produces the series as well. 'Ridley is the man. He's the creator of this franchise, he's come back to it later in his career,' Hawley said. 'But you know, like the Coen brothers [with 'Fargo'], he was very respectful of the fact that I seem to know what I'm doing, and I have my own take on it. That's the thing with these films, is that they take on a life of their own. And at a certain point you have to take a step back and let them be what they want to be.' Hawley added of the recent 'Alien' film, 'I thought 'Romulus' was great. It's a thrill ride. These movies are always survival stories. And the challenge in television is, that's great for two hours, but for 20 or 30 or 50 hours, survival isn't enough. You need to tell a larger story that engages you with characters and emotions and is not just about 'Who is the last one standing?'' 'Alien: Earth' premieres August 12 on FX and Hulu. Alien: Earth's Story Sounds Absolutely Wild

Noah Hawley's Alien prequel TV series is bringing a whole new meaning to hostile corporate actions when it hits FX and Hulu August 12. Most of what we've learned about Alien: Earth so far has been incredibly vague. There's an Alien, and it's on Earth, and that's… well, that's mostly about it. But we've just learned when we can expect to actually see it… and also a lot, lot more about its setting in the Alien timeline. This morning FX and Hulu confirmed that Alien: Earth will premiere this August, alongside a bevy of new images from the show, which begin to lift the lid on the series' premise. Alien: Earth is set in 2120, just two years before the events of the original film, and follows life on Earth as it is dominated by the corporate interests of five governing companies: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. Each of those five corporations in racing to unlock the key to immortality, advancing human longevity through the development of synthetic life and cybernetics. But things heat up when Prodigy's CEO announces that the company has managed to synthesize those two fields and create the very first hybrid form of life: Wendy (played by Sydney Chandler), a human consciousness merged with a synthetic android body. Alien: Earth First Look Images Wendy lives in Prodigy City, the company's all-encompassing HQ, alongside other hybrids, preparing to usher in a new age for humankind… which Weyland-Yutani doesn't like very much. So, in what can only be described as an extremely hostile corporate takeover, the company intentionally crashes one of its research vessels, the USCSS Maginot, into Prodigy City, unleashing its surviving Xenomorph passenger, onto Wendy, the rest of the hybrids, and everyone else now trapped in Prodigy City. Oops! As you can see in all the new preview images above, Alien: Earth has quite the cast, including Andor's Alex Lawther, the legendary Timothy Olyphant, and many more. Here's a full breakdown of the new cast and their roles (including one very interestingly named person at the end): Sydney Chandler as Wendy Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh Alex Lawther as Hermit Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier Babou Ceesay as Morrow Adrian Edmondson as Atom Eins David Rysdahl as Arthur Sylvia Essie Davis as Dame Sylvia Lily Newmark as Nibs Erana James as Curly Adarsh Gourav as Slightly Jonathan Ajayi as Smee Kit Young as Tootles Diêm Camille as Siberian Moe Bar-El as Rashidi Sandra Yi Sencindiver as Yutani Alien: Earth begins on FX and Hulu August 12, with episodes streaming internationally on Disney+.
