Here's what the celebs wore to the Tony Awards 2025
The 78th Tony Awards took place in Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night, with Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Scherzinger, George Clooney and Cork native Samantha Barry among the celebrities at the starry event.
The awards, which were hosted this year by Wicked star Erivo, celebrate excellent in the theatre community and is one of the most hotly anticipated nights in entertainment.
A host of first-time winners were celebrated on the night. As always, the stars dressed to the nines for the occasion, stepping out in outfits that were typically theatrical.
Scherzinger, who has had a headline-making turn in Sunset Boulevard, was a first time nominee and walked away with the award for best leading actress in a musical.
The actress and singer wore a form-fitting red sequinned gown by Rodarte. The custom design featured a thigh-high slit and a fitted bodice. She paired it with red stiletto heels and a bold red lip.
Jonathan Groff also opted for a red look, stepping out in a three-piece dark crimson suit by Thom Browne, with a statement diamong brooch on one lapel. Brooke Shields made a bold entrance in a vivid red mini dress by Balmain.
Samantha Barry, editor-in-chief of US Glamour, made a stunning appearance, looking elegant in a black and white floral gown by Carolina Herrera.
With hosting duties on the night, Erivo made sure her outfit stood out, and wore a Schiaparelli SS25 Couture gown featuring an exaggerated off-the-shoulder neckline, an embroidered bodice and a sleek skirt.
Cole Escola, the star and writer of Oh, Mary! a comedic reimagining of Mary Todd Lincoln as a woman who yearns to be a cabaret star, made history as the first out non-binary person to win best actor in a play.
They wore a striking periwinkle blue gown by Wiederhoeft featuring an embellished corset and a flowing train.
