Lincoln scores pair of third-period goals to get by Sioux City 3-2 in Western Conference semifinal opener
LINCOLN, Neb. (KCAU) – The Lincoln Stars scored a pair of third-period goals to take Game 1 of the best-of-five USHL Western Conference Semifinals with a 3-2 victory against Sioux City.
Giacomo Martino and Nick Sykora scored in the second period to give the Musketeers a 2-1 lead headed into the final period, but a pair of Lincoln goals less than two minutes apart proved to be the difference maker.
Sioux City goaltender Samuel Urban made 15 saves in the loss.
The Musketeers will play Game 2 of the series tomorrow in Lincoln at 7:05 p.m.
