Donald Trump pardons controversial reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley after being convicted of defrauding banks of $46m

President Donald Trump has pardoned controversial reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were previously found guilty of defrauding banks of $30 million ($A46.5 million). The Chrisley family rose to fame on the hit show Chrisley Knows Best, which aired between 2014 and 2023. The pair were sentenced to lengthy prison terms in 2022, on a set of charges, including several tax crimes. Their daughter, Savannah, had been calling for their release, after becoming the sole guardian of her siblings Grayson, 19, and 12-year-old Chloe. Savannah claims her parents have been unable to speak to each other since their incarceration and have been suffering harsh treatment while in confinement. The Chrisley family has been dubbed the Trumps of the South. Julie had been serving her prison term at the federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky until January 2028. Meanwhile, Todd was serving time at the FPC Pensacola until April 2032. In a clip posted to X, Trump personally called Savannah to let her know about the pardon. 'It's a terrible thing but it's a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,' Trump said on the call, which was posted to social media by a White House aide. An overwhelmed Savannah replied: 'Thank you so much, Mr President!' Savannah then introduced her brother, Grayson, who was equally appreciative. 'Mr President, I just want to say thank you for bringing my parents back,' he said. Trump replied: 'Yeah, well they were given pretty harsh treatment, based on what I'm hearing.' A tearful Savannah later told US People magazine she was overjoyed at their release. 'Both my parents are coming home,' Savannah said. 'I could not be more grateful.' Chrisley said she was immediately going to get fresh, clean clothes ready. 'I'm just speechless,' she said. 'I just can't thank you guys enough for sticking with my family and loving us and supporting us ... It still doesn't feel real. It doesn't. I'm freaking out, so I'm going to go and prepare to pick up my parents. My parents get to start their lives over!' 'It's time to go get mom (sic) and dad.'

Bindi Irwin breaks silence after emergency surgery in the United States

Bindi Irwin has broken her silence from a hospital bed on Tuesday, giving an update on her condition following emergency surgery in the United States. Irwin, 26, was forced to miss the annual Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas on Saturday night, US time, after her appendix ruptured and doctors performed emergency surgery to have the organ removed. 'I had my appendix removed. I also had 14 new endometriosis lesions that had to be removed and they kindly stitched up my hernia as well,' the mother-of-one said in a video from her hospital bed. 'I'm sorry if I'm a little out of it in this video, but I just wanted you to know that I'm on the road to recovery one step at a time and I am so lucky to have so much love in my life from my beautiful family.' Irwin has had a well-documented struggle with endometriosis. The condition causes the cells that line the uterus to grow in other parts of the body, which causes painful scar tissue, according to Health Direct. Bindi Irwin's mother, Terri, also rushed to be by her side. Brother Robert told the ceremony she was rushed into hospital with a ruptured appendix. He later gave an update to US People magazine. 'She's going to be OK, but surgery — out of all the things we were ready for — that was not one of them,' Robert told the publication. 'She's just come out the other side of endometriosis and now the appendix goes. 'She's devastated that she and mum can't be here, but I know she'll make a speedy recovery. In March 2023, Bindi revealed she had suffered from endometriosis and underwent surgery in the United States. It was the first time she had spoken about it publicly. 'I'm aware of millions of women of women struggling with a similar story,' she wrote, in a touching message on Instagram. 'There's stigma around this awful disease. I'm sharing my story for anyone who reads this and is quietly dealing with pain and no answers.'

Robert Irwin announces he will star on the next season of US Dancing With The Stars

Wildlife warrior Robert Irwin will star on the US version of Dancing With The Stars. Irwin, 21, shared a clip of himself making a guest appearance alongside his sister, Bindi, when she was a contestant on the show in 2015, as he announced the news via Instagram. A clearly excited Irwin said: '11-year-old me is beside himself right now. 'Bindi, thank you for inspiring me to take on this next adventure. Dancing With The Stars, I'm so grateful for the life-changing experience ahead.' Irwin said he used to sit in the audience and be in awe of Bindi — who won that season of the show. 'There was a little part of me in my brain thinking 'One day that will be me',' he said. Sister Bindi returned the love, commenting: 'Love you so much. Gosh, how was this 10 years ago? You're going to be amazing.' Irwin made global headlines earlier this month when he appeared in a racy ad campaign for Bonds, as the brand launched in the US. Irwin shows off his muscular chest as he posed in a typically Aussie backyard in a pair of his Bonds underwear. Irwin spoke to US People magazine about the new campaign. 'It was an immediate yes,' Irwin told the publication. 'I wish I could say I was very suave and cool about the whole thing but I was like, 'Yes, let's do it!' because Bonds Australia is an absolute icon. 'Also, I'm at the point in my life where I'm trying to do as many different and random, exciting things and if it's something that makes me a little bit nervous, that I've never done before, and it's a bit of an adrenaline rush, that's what I want to be doing.' Irwin added he was proud the Made for Down Under campaign was bringing awareness to wildlife causes. The wildlife warrior is currently thought to be single, after his first high-profile relationship ended early last year. Irwin and Rorie Buckey, the niece of late Oscar-winner Health Ledger, announced their split on Instagram after dating for more than a year. Buckey shared the news via a joint statement on her Instagram in February 2024. 'We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future,' the pair said. 'We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths. 'We won't be commenting further on this and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time.'
